Ahmed Mahmoud al-Khalili

July 30, 2014: Ahmed Mahmoud al-Khalili, 28, was killed by Israeli soldiers who fired two tank shells at the house of Mohammed Ata al-Khalili, in the al-Sanafour area, in the at-Tuffah neighborhood, east of Gaza city.

Ahmed was killed along with his wife, Aya Mohammed al-Khalili, 23, and their daughter Lama, 4.

Ahmed’s brother, Ashraf, 33, along with Ashraf’s wife, Nedaa, 27, their daughter, Deema, 5, and their son Ziyad, 2. Their son, Mahmoud, 7, was seriously injured, and died from his wounds at an Egyptian hospital on August 04, 2014.

The family was waiting to be evacuated from the area due to the heavy Israeli shelling and bombardment of various neighborhoods in Gaza.

At least 110 Palestinians, including many children and women, were killed by Israeli missiles and shells that day alone, in different parts of the Gaza Strip.

Seventeen of them were killed in a crowded market, east of Gaza city. Ahmed was from Gaza.  Source: Mezan Center for Human Rights, IMEMC
