Mohammad Abdullah Hamed

June 25, 2022: Mohammad Abdullah Saleh Hamed, 16, died of wounds sustained the previous day during protests near Ramallah, when he was shot by invading Israeli forces.

The Palestinian District Coordination Office (DCO) confirmed that a Palestinian child who was shot and seriously injured by Israeli army fire near Ramallah Friday succumbed to his wounds at an Israeli hospital on Saturday dawn.

The DCO said the Israeli side officially informed that Mohammad Abdullah Saleh Hamed, 16, from Silwad town, east of the central West Bank city of Ramallah, had succumbed to his serious wounds.

The soldiers shot Hammad during protests that took place after several Israeli military jeeps invaded Silwad.

Talking to Palestine TV, Silwad Mayor, Raed Nimir, told reporters that Mohammad was shot with a bullet in the face near bypass road #60 and added that his corpse would be transferred to his family Saturday before the official burial ceremony was held on the same day.

At the time of his injury, Abdullah’s name or age remained unknown; however, his condition was known to the Palestinians to be serious before the army took him away.

Nimir added that the soldiers invaded the town several times within just a few hours after shooting the child, leading to protests. He also said the town is subject to daily invasions and violations by the soldiers.

Local sources said several military vehicles invaded the town before the army closed roads and interrogated many Palestinians.

They added that many youngsters protested the invasion before the soldiers fired live rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets, and gas bombs.

Medical sources in Silwad said the soldiers shot a young man with live fire before abducting him and caused several others to suffer the effects of tear gas inhalation.

On Friday night, the soldiers invaded the Jabal ash-Sharaf area in the southern West Bank city of Hebron, attacked a wedding party, and conducted violent searches.

After his death was confirmed, hundreds of residents marched in Silwad at dawn while chanting against the ongoing illegal Israeli occupation and escalating Israeli violations against the Palestinians.

The Palestinians in Silwad declared a two-day strike in the town to mourn the slain child.

June 19, 2022: Nabil Ahmad Taiseer Ghanem, 53, was killed by Israeli soldiers near the worker near the illegal Annexation Wall, south of Qalqilia, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.

The Palestinian Health Ministry said the soldiers fatally shot Nabil and took his corpse to Meir Medical Center in Kfar Saba after refusing to allow Palestinian medics to reach him.

The Health Ministry added that the soldiers fired live rounds at Palestinian workers while trying to cross the Jaljulia gate of the illegal Annexation Wall, killing Ghanem before taking his corpse away.

The Israeli army claimed the soldiers fired live rounds at Ahmad when he reportedly “attempted to damage a section of the Wall” but failed to provide any details of the allegation.

Eyewitnesses refuted the military’s allegations and said dozens of Palestinian workers were trying to cross the gate of the Annexation Wall when the soldiers fired at them to force them to leave, although they carried permits to cross.

The soldiers also attacked Palestinian workers near the Taybeh military roadblock, southwest of Tulkarem in the northern West Bank, and fired gas bombs at them, causing dozens to suffer the effects of tear gas inhalation.
