July 29, 2014: Mona Ismail Al-Najjar, 43, was killed by Israeli missiles fired at the family home, owned by her husband, Ibrahim Hasan al-Najjar, in Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli bombardment also led to the death of her daughter, Aya, 23, and her son, Jehad, 25, in addition to Jehad’s wife, Maysa, 18, their infant daughter, Mona, 27 days of age, and Jehad’s mother Fawziya Qasem Al-Najjar, 81.
The Israeli strike demolished the home, and also killed Fawziya’s grandsons, Mohammad Zaki Al-Najjar, 30, and Hamad Yousif Al-Najjar, 23, in addition to wounding six other Palestinians.
The attack against the Al-Najjar family home came at dawn, without a warning from the Israeli army, and caused damage to several nearby homes.
At least 45 Palestinians were killed by Israeli missiles and shells, in different parts of the Gaza Strip that day alone. Mona was from Khan Younis. Source: Mezan Center For Human Rights
