July 29, 2014: Fawziya Qasem Al-Najjar, 81, was killed by Israeli missiles fired at the family home, owned by her son, Ibrahim Hassan Al-Najjar, in Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli bombardment also led to the death of Fawziya’s daughter-in-law, Mona Ismail Al-Najjar, 43, Mona’s daughter, Aya, 23, and her son, Jehad, 25, in addition to Jehad’s wife, Maysa, 18, and their infant daughter, Mona, 27 days of age.
The Israeli strike demolished the home, and also killed Fawziya’s grandsons, Mohammad Zaki Al-Najjar, 30, and Hamad Yousif Al-Najjar, 23, in addition to wounding six other Palestinians.
The attack against the Al-Najjar family home came at dawn without a warning from the Israeli army, and damaged several nearby homes.
At least 45 Palestinians were killed by Israeli missiles and shells, in different parts of the Gaza Strip, that day alone. Fawziya was from Khan Younis. Source: Mezan Center For Human Rights
