Mohammad Hasan Assaf

April 13, 2022: Mohammad Hasan Assaf, 34, was killed by Israeli soldiers while driving in the industrial area in Nablus city, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.

Medical sources in Nablus have confirmed that the soldiers shot the Palestinian with a live round in the chest.

Mohammad was killed when the Israeli soldiers were withdrawing from Nablus after a massive invasion into several areas, causing many injuries, including several young men shot with live rounds.

Eyewitnesses said the army fired dozens of live rounds at cars, homes, and streets while withdrawing from the area.

Mohammad was a lawyer with the Wall & Colonization Resistance Commission and was a well-known figure and social activist who represented dozens of families in Israeli courts, filed appeals against the illegal Israeli annexation of Palestinian lands, and defended the rights of the Palestinians, especially the farmers and villagers.

Mohammad was also a known figure, not just to the Palestinians for defending their rights and lands from illegal Israeli annexation and colonies, but also by the Israeli occupation soldiers for his constant participation in the ongoing nonviolent processions against the illegal Israeli Annexation Wall, and the colonies.

Mohammad, a father of three children, the oldest of them is only four years of age, was killed by the soldiers while returning home after driving his sons and nephews to school; he was returning from the Industrial Area in Nablus when the soldiers fired at his car and killed him.

His corpse was moved from Rafidia hospital in Nablus to his home in Kafr Laqif town in Qalqilia.

The PCHR added that “Since the beginning of the year, the Israeli occupation forces killed 26 Palestinians, including six children and two women, in separate incidents in the West Bank; most of them were victims of excessive use of force that accompanied suppression of peaceful protests and gatherings.”

Abdullah Tayseer Mousa Srour

April 12, 2022: Abdullah Tayseer Mousa Srour, 41, was killed by Israeli police officers after they invaded a construction site, looking for people with no entry or work permits, in Asqalan (Ashkelon) city.

Eyewitnesses said the Police invaded the construction site to look for Palestinian workers who have no permits and shot one after he reportedly refused to show him his ID card.

Abdullah worked in Amman – Jordan, selling car parts and fixing cars, and used to come to Palestine to work in construction for a few months of the year for the last four years.

The family said he had no political affiliation and was a hardworking man trying to survive and support his family.

The police claim that the worker was “behaving suspiciously,” “had a knife,” and “stabbed an officer,” causing a mild injury before he was fatally shot.

The Israeli Public Security Minister Omer Barlev “congratulated” the officer who killed Mousa and said he “prevented an attack with his own body…” Israeli National News said.

Shaher Sa’ad, the secretary of the Palestinian General Federation of Trade Unions, denounced the escalating Israeli volition against the Palestinian workers and added that the Israeli Police has been invading construction sites and interrogating the Palestinian workers while checking for permits in addition to repeatedly assaulting and detaining them.

“Abdullah worked hard to support his family, living in Jordan because Israel refused to grant them family reunification documents; he was an electrician and was trying to support his wife and son,” Sa’ad said, “This policy of killing our people, our workers, is a serious violation of International Law; “Palestinian workers are looking for their daily bread to feed their families and support them.”

Mohammad Hussein Zakarna

April 11, 2022: Mohammad Hussein Zakarna, 17, died from serious wounds he suffered a day earlier when Israeli soldiers invaded Jenin city, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.

The Health Ministry said undercover Israeli soldiers, who infiltrated the Industrial Zone in Jenin, shot the teen shot in the back.

Medical sources said Mohammad was shot with an expanding bullet in the back, and its fragments tore through his chest area.

Eyewitnesses said Mohammad was shot and seriously injured when the undercover officers ambushed a Palestinian car and fired several live rounds at it.

Palestinian medics rushed Mohammad to the al-Razi hospital in Jenin, where he succumbed to his serious wounds, one day after he was shot.

His funeral ceremony was held in Jenin shortly after his death and was attended by hundreds of Palestinians.

On April 10, the soldiers killed a widowed Palestinian mother of six children, Ghada Ibrahim Ali Sabateen, 48, in Husan village, west of Bethlehem, and Mohammad Ali Ghneim, 21, in the Al-Khader town, south of the Bethlehem city in the occupied West Bank, in addition to Maha Kathem Awad Zaatari, 24, near the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron.

Mohammad Ali Ghneim

April 10, 2022: Mohammad Ali Ghneim, 21, was killed by Israeli soldiers in the Al-Khader town, south of the Bethlehem city in the occupied West Bank.

The Palestinian, a former political prisoner, was standing near his home, close to the illegal Annexation Wall, when shot with a live round in the back before the bullet exited from the chest area.

Palestinian medics rushed Mohammad to the al-Yamama hospital in Al-Khader town, where he died from his serious wounds.

In related news, the soldiers killed a widowed Palestinian mother of six children, Ghada Ibrahim Ali Sabateen, 48, in Husan village, west of Bethlehem, and another woman, Maha Kathem Awad Zaatari, 24, near the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron, in the southern part of the occupied West Bank.

Ghada Ibrahim Ali Sabateen

April 10, 2022: Ghada Ibrahim Ali Sabateen, 48, was killed by Israeli soldiers in Husan village, west of Bethlehem, in the occupied West Bank.

The Ministry said Ghada, a widowed mother of six children, was shot in the thigh and added that the bullet severed an artery, leading to excessive bleeding.

Eyewitnesses denied the military allegations about an alleged stabbing attempt and said the soldiers seemed to be very frightened and on edge when they installed the roadblock at the eastern entrance of Husan town.

They added that, immediately after seeing Ghada walking in their direction, they started shouting at her, startling her, and causing her to panic, before they fired two rounds at the woman although she posed no threat to them.

The soldiers left Ghada bleeding without first aid while they “secured the area”, and later allowed the Palestinian medics to reach her before taking her to Beit Jala governmental hospital.

Israeli daily Haaretz said, “Israeli soldiers shot dead a Palestinian woman in her forties after she approached them in a suspicious manner”.

Haaretz also said “no weapons were found on her person”, and that the army is allegedly “investigating the incident.”

The slain woman cannot see in one eye, and her vision in the second eye is weak. Her funeral ceremony was held in Husan a few hours after the soldiers killed her.

It is worth mentioning that the soldiers attacked and detained a Palestine TV crew and prevented them from documenting the unfolding events.

The Palestinian Center For Human Rights (PCHR) said its independent investigation revealed that the soldiers established a checkpoint near eastern Husan village, western Bethlehem, to search the passers-by and check their IDs.

“At around 12:15, Ghada who was wearing glasses and abaya crossed the street towards the Israeli soldiers who were on the pavement; two were behind a cement cube and one was in front of them.

Video footage showed the woman walking on the pavement when she was targeted, and her hands were empty, and did not carry anything.  She approached where 3 soldiers were positioned; two were behind cement cubes and one in front of them.  The latter opened fire at the woman, wounding her in the left thigh, and she fell to the ground.

According to the investigations, when the passers-by attempted to help her, the soldiers forcibly pushed them away and fired tear gas canisters at them.  Meanwhile, the soldiers thoroughly searched the wounded woman and cut her clothes without giving her first aid.

When they were sure she did not have any knife or tool, they allowed the passers-by after half an hour of severe bleeding to take her in a civilian vehicle to Beit Jala Hospital to receive treatment.  A few minutes later, the medical crews at the hospital pronounced her death after succumbing to her injury caused by a bullet that penetrated the leg artery and massive blood loss due to being left to bleed for half an hour at the scene without offering her first aid.

PCHR’s investigations confirm that Sabateen was visually impaired, she did not pose threat or danger to the Israeli soldiers’ lives, and they could have controlled her without resorting to excessive force.

Sabateen’s family affirmed that she had a visual impairment, and she was a widow and mother of 6 children from Husan village. The family added that Sabateen was heading to her relative’s house in the village. According to eyewitnesses, she approached the soldiers, although they warned her, perhaps because she was confused and stumbled while passing by the street adjacent to the soldiers, who did not give her enough time to obey their orders and immediately opened fire at her.”

Palestinian Prime Minister, Mohammad Eshteyya, denounced “Israel’s state-sponsored terrorism” and the allegations the soldiers constantly use to justify the killings of the Palestinians.

Eshteyya also called on the International Community and all international legal and human rights groups to condemn the escalating Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people and act on stopping them.

Maha Kathem Zaatari

April 10, 2022: Maha Kathem Awad Zaatari, 24, was killed by Israeli soldiers near the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron, in the southern part of the occupied West Bank, after she reportedly stabbed a soldier, causing a mild injury.

The Israeli army claimed the woman arrived at the roadblock, where many soldiers and officers are stationed, and stabbed one before she was fatally shot.

After killing the young woman, the army closed the Ibrahimi Mosque and declared the area around it a closed military zone.

|Update: On December 23, 2022, the Israeli Authorities finally allowed the transfer of her corpse to her family.|

The soldiers prevented the Palestinian medics, who rushed to the area, from approaching her to render the needed medical aid.

The soldiers also fired gas bombs and concussion grenades at the Palestinians to force them away.

After her death, the soldiers invaded her home and ransacked it, in addition to interrogating her family.

On the same day, the soldiers killed a widowed Palestinian mother of six children, Ghada Ibrahim Ali Sabateen, 48, in Husan village, west of Bethlehem.

Ahmad Nasser Sa’adi

April 9th, 2022: Ahmad Nasser Sa’adi, 21, was shot and killed by Israeli soldiers, and at least fourteen Palestinians were injured, during an invasion of the Jenin refugee camp in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.

The Israeli army confirmed that its soldiers invaded the refugee camp before surrounding the home of Ra’ad Hazem, who was killed by the army, before dawn Friday, nine hours after he allegedly killed three Israelis and wounded seven others in Tel Aviv.

Many armored military vehicles surrounded the refugee camp before invading it from several directions.

The soldiers surrounded a compound owned by Hazem’s family to abduct his father and several family members before exchanging fire with Palestinian resistance fighters in the area.

The soldiers invaded and ransacked Ra’ad’s home and interrogated the family before summoning his father and his brothers for interrogation in the Salem military base.

The soldiers also abducted Mohammad Darawsha from Jenin refugee camp and stormed homes in the Schools Area in Jenin city and Deir Ghassana village, northeast of Jenin.

Local sources said the soldiers invaded several buildings outside the refugee camp and used their rooftops as sniper posts.

The sources added that the soldiers exchanged fire with resistance fighters in the refugee camp before killing one and wounding at least five others.

Medical sources at the Jenin governmental hospital said the soldiers killed a Palestinian resistance fighter, identified as Ahmad Nasser Sa’adi, 21, after shooting him with two live rounds in the head and chest.

The soldiers also stormed and ransacked dozens of homes in the refugee camp, and shot a former political prisoner, Noureddine Saber al-Jarboa’, wounding him in the chest and abdomen before abducting him.

The Al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad, said Ahmad was one of its members, adding that he was killed in a fire exchange with the soldiers who invaded the refugee camp.

During the invasion, the soldiers shot thirteen Palestinians with live ammunition in the refugee camp, including a young woman, 19, who suffered a serious-but-stable injury, before they moved to Jenin and Ibn Sina Hospitals.

Dozens of Palestinians also protested the invasion and the killing of the young man and hurled stones at the soldiers who fired live rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets, and gas bombs.

The Palestinians also used loudspeakers in the local mosques, calling to protect the refugee camp and defend it from Israeli occupation soldiers’ invasion.

The funeral precision of the slain young man was held on Saturday evening and was attended by thousands of Palestinians.

Ra’ad Fathi Khazem

RaadApril 8, 2022: Ra’ad Fathi Khazem, 29, was shot and killed by Israeli forces while hiding near a mosque in Jaffa. He was accused of having carried out an attack on Israelis at a popular bar and restaurant strip in Tel Aviv the previous night.

Three Israelis were killed in the attack, in which a shooter fired randomly at passers by on a busy street filled with bars and restaurants. A Palestinian man who Israeli police identified as the assailant was shot and killed by Israeli forces before dawn the following morning.

On Friday, Barak Lofen, 35, died at the Sourasky Medical Center from serious wounds sustained during the shooting. Israeli sources said Lofen was a former Olympian kayaker and represented Israel in the 2008 Beijing and 2012 London Olympics.

Originally from Kibbutz Ginossar, Barak lived in Givat Shmuel, and was a married father of three children.

One of the Israelis killed in the attack was identified as 28-year-old old Tomer Morad, originally from Kfar Saba. Morad was an employee at Ilka Bar, on Dizengoff Street. Israeli soldiers said Eitam Megini, 27, from Kfar Sava, a childhood friend of Tomer, was also killed in the shooting attack.

The Israeli forces had searched the city for hours after a man shot and killed two Israelis and wounded 8 others in a mass shooting in Tel Aviv (one of the wounded died the following day of his injuries).

Ra’ad Fathi Hazem

Israeli troops located 29-year-old Ra’ad Fathi Hazem, from Jenin refugee camp, near a mosque in Jaffa (the Palestinian city that was originally located in the place where Tel Aviv was built by Israeli colonizers and is now considered a ‘suburb’ of Tel Aviv).

The shooting took place at two locations on Dizengoff Street in Tel Aviv, which is a street with several bars and restaurants.

Barak Lofen

According to Israeli sources, when he was discovered, Hazem fired ten bullets toward the officers who found him hiding near the mosque, and the Israeli police officers then shot and killed him.

Tomer Morad

Israel Police Chief Kobi Shabtai told reporters after Hazem was killed on Friday, “After a difficult night, and after long hours of joint activity by the Israel Police, the Shin Bet, and the [Israeli military], we succeeded this morning, in operational and intelligence cooperation, in closing a circle and eliminating the terrorist by exchange of fire. We emphasized that no matter how much it takes, we will catch the terrorist, alive or dead, and indeed the contact this morning was a quick and determined response from the Shin Bet and YAMAM fighters in Jaffa.”

Eitam Megini

Following the shooting attack in Tel Aviv, Israeli authorities called up hundreds of special forces soldiers, many of whom lined areas near the Wall that Israel has constructed to separate and annex Palestinian land. They were there to prevent Palestinians from crossing through from the West Bank into what is now Israel.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas denounced the fatal shooting and said, “the killing of Palestinian and Israeli civilians will only lead to further deterioration,” and added, “We are seeking stability, especially during Ramadan and the upcoming Jewish and Christians holidays.”

He added that the ongoing Israeli invasions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the escalating provocation by the illegal colonizes and the policies will only lead to further tension and instability.

“Only real and comprehensive peace will lead to stability,” Abbas said, “this is the shortest and safest road to security, peace, and stability, not only for the Palestinians and the Israelis but also to the entire region.”

Saif Hifthy Abu Libda

April 2, 2022: Saif Hifthy Abu Libda, 25, was killed by undercover Israeli soldiers who also killed two other Palestinians in the same attack at the ‘Arraba junction, south of the northern West Bank city of Jenin.

The Palestinian TV said the undercover soldiers fired a barrage of live ammunition at a Palestinian car, killing the three young men and wounding others.

The undercover Israeli soldiers surrounded the Palestinian car before opening fire at it, clearly indicating that the soldiers weren’t there to arrest anybody but to assassinate them.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said its medics could not approach the three young men for more than two hours, especially since the soldiers declared the area a closed military zone and added that a fourth Palestinian was injured.

The soldiers also fired many gas bombs and concussion grenades at the Palestinians who tried to enter the area.

The two other Palestinians who were killed in the same Israeli military attack have been identified as Khalil Mohammad Tawalba, 24, from Jenin refugee camp, and Sa’eb Tayseer Abahra, 30, from the al-Yamoun town, west of Jenin

The army told the PRCS medics to bring body bags to take the corpses of the three Palestinians, but the move was a ploy because that is when the soldiers put the bodies in an Israeli ambulance and drove away.

The Palestinian medics were never allowed to approach the three young men and therefore could not administer any first aid that could have saved their lives.

Eyewitnesses said the soldiers pulled the Palestinians out of their car and again fired several rounds at them while on the ground to ensure the kill. The soldiers also towed the car driven by the three slain Palestinians.

The Israeli army and internal security said they have no intention to transfer their corpses to their families for burial.

In a statement, the Al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad, said the three Palestinians were members of the group.

“As we mourn our fighters who were assassinated in a cowardice Israeli assassination, we vow to continue the struggle until liberation,” the Brigades said, “We vow to our people to continue our legitimate duty, to continue resisting the Zionist enemy. Our people never surrender and will continue the struggle for the liberation of Jerusalem and Palestine.”

In a statement condemning the assassination, the Hamas movement said: “The ongoing killing of our people in the West Bank will not grant Israel peace or stability and will not grant it legitimacy for its illegal occupation of our land. On the contrary, these attacks will only grant our people more power, determination, and unity in resisting the occupier everywhere.”

Israeli sources said the army was operating in the area to arrest Palestinians, while the Israeli Security Agency (Shin Bet) alleged that the Palestinians “were responsible for a shooting attack in the Tulkarem, and planned additional attacks against the soldiers and other targets.”

The sources added that the soldiers also found weapons in the car and confiscated them.

The Israeli Jerusalem Post claimed the three were killed during an exchange of fire with the undercover forces and added that four soldiers were injured, one seriously.

The undercover soldiers fired several live rounds at the car before the reported exchange of fire took place, Palestinian eyewitnesses said.

The Israeli army said the undercover soldiers monitored the Palestinians for several hours before killing them, adding that they were members of the Al-Aqsa Brigades, the armed wing of the Fateh movement.

However, the Al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement, has confirmed that the three are members of the group.

“We vow to continue the struggle and continue resisting the occupiers until liberation and independence,” it stated, “Our fighters were assassinated in a cowardly attack at the Arraba junction. We will continue the path of resistance, determined to achieve independence.”

The Palestinian National Initiative condemned the assassination and said the preplanned Israeli attack and the fact that the soldiers prevented the Palestinian ambulances from reaching the three young men, especially to administer what could have been lifesaving first aid, proves that the army and its leadership are only interested in escalation, and want to resume their assassinations’ policies.

The Initiative denounced the ongoing illegal Israeli occupation and its crimes against the Palestinian people and added that this assassination, on the first day of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, is a clear indication that Israel wants to continue its crimes amidst the silence of the International Community.

On Friday afternoon, Israeli soldiers killed a young Palestinian man, Ahmad Younis al-Atrash, 29, during a procession in Hebron city in the southern part of the occupied West Bank.
