Ala’ Nasser Ahmad Zaghal

October 05, 2022: Ala’ Nasser Ahmad Zaghal, 21, was killed by Israeli soldiers who invaded Deir Al-Hatab, east of Nablus, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.

Palestinian Medical sources have confirmed that the soldiers killed the young man after shooting him with a live round in the head.

The sources added that the soldiers also shot with live ammunition four other Palestinians, including two journalists, and caused dozens to suffer the effects of tear gas inhalation.

Palestine TV has confirmed that the soldiers shot its journalists, Mahmoud Fawzi and Lu’ay Samhan, with live fire in their arms.

Palestine TV and eyewitnesses said the slain Palestinian was unarmed when the soldiers targeted him with live fire near the town’s main entrance, far away from where the soldiers were invading the town and attacking protesters.

The Israeli army claimed it invaded Deir Al-Hatab to arrest a Palestinian fighter, Salam Imran, who is allegedly responsible for shooting incidents targeting Israeli soldiers and colonizers near Nablus.

Salam is believed to be a member of the Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, and a member of the “Lion’s Den,” a united group of resistance fighters from various factions.

In a statement, the Israeli army said it invaded Deir Al-Hatab to arrest Imran for his alleged involvement in a shooting targeting an Israeli colonizer driving a taxi near Nablus.

The army claimed its soldiers exchanged fire with Palestinian resistance fighters and added that two officers were reportedly slightly injured.

The group is believed to be behind dozens of shooting incidents targeting Israeli soldiers, especially during the army’s operations in Jenin and Nablus, in the northern part of the West Bank.

Hundreds of Palestinians participated in Ala’s funeral ceremony and procession and carried his corpse from the Rafidia hospital in Nablus to his home in Askar refugee camp, east of Nablus, before he was buried at the refugee camp’s cemetery.

More than 165 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire this year, including 51 in the Gaza Strip and at least 110 in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. The death toll in the West Bank is the highest on record in a single year since 2015. In addition, at least two Israeli soldiers have been killed by Palestinian fire since May.

Sa’ed Adnan al-Koni

September 25, 2022: Sa’ed Adnan al-Koni, 26, was killed by Israeli soldiers who ambushed him and several others in Nablus, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.

The Palestinian was assassinated when the soldiers ambushed several Palestinians and fired live rounds at his Motorcycle and a car driving in the city. Sa’ed was the one driving the Motorcycle.

Eyewitnesses said the Palestinians in the ambushed car managed to flee the scene, but the army injured some of them.

The soldiers also abducted two Palestinians, Ashraf Kousa and Taqeyeddin Boshkar, from the Ta’awon neighborhood and the Housing Projects in the city.

The Israeli army said its soldiers ambushed the Palestinians and opened fire on them “after identifying them as the persons responsible for several incidents of firing rounds at Har Bracha settlement.”

The Palestinian was identified and assassinated before noticing the soldiers who ambushed him and the other young men. The army took his corpse before leaving the area.

The army said the Golani Brigade soldiers “opened fire at armed Palestinians who were identified on a motorcycle and in a car” in Nablus.

Israeli Ynet News quoted the army claiming that the “soldiers identified a motorcycle followed by a car, and after confirming they were armed, the soldiers opened fire, killing the man riding the motorcycle.”

The slain Palestinian was a member of the “Lions’ Den” resistance group, which includes fighters from several factions; the group aims to unify armed resistance fighters regardless of political affiliation.

On Saturday, September 24, the soldiers killed Mohammad Ali Hussein Abu Kafia, 36, after his car accidentally collided with an empty police vehicle near Nablus, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.

He is the fourteenth Palestinian to be killed by Israeli soldiers since the beginning of this month, September 2022.

Mohammad Ali Abu Kafia

September 24, 2022: Mohammad Ali Hussein Abu Kafia, 36, was killed by Israeli soldiers after his car accidentally collided with an empty police vehicle near Nablus, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.

The Israeli army and various Israeli media outlets justified the fatal shooting by describing the traffic accident as a “deliberate ramming attack.”

Some Israeli media sources claimed the two officers were injured, but the Israeli police later released a statement denying the reports.

The Israeli police said its officers were interrogating a Palestinian when the other driver, Mohammad, was reportedly driving fast and crashed into an empty Police vehicle.

Video By Palestine TV

The Israeli army issued a brief statement claiming that the officers opened fire at the Palestinian car when the “driver tried to run them over,” however, it added that “there was no way to verify this allegation immediately.”

Many Palestinians, including several women, have been killed or seriously injured after Israeli soldiers or police officers opened fire at them in similar traffic accidents, simply because they are Palestinians, and the other party of the accident was an Israeli soldier, officer, or colonialist settler.

Mohammad’s cousin, Ramadan Abu Kafia, said Mohammad was driving back home from Qalqilia, in the northern West Bank, when he had a traffic accident with an empty police vehicle parked at the side of the street near Havat Gilad illegal colony, southwest of Nablus.

He added that the soldiers immediately decided that he was carrying out a ramming attack” and opened fire at him even though their lives were not in any danger, and they could have easily arrested him to investigate the incident.

A week ago, the soldiers shot and seriously injured a young Palestinian man in a traffic accident in Huwwara town, south of Nablus.

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates issued a statement denouncing the killing of Mohammad Abu Kafia and said it is yet another Israeli crime against the Palestinian civilians in occupied Palestine.

It added that the Israeli political and military leaderships passed various legislations and laws allowing the soldiers and the police to resort to fatal means against the Palestinians merely if they suspect the Palestinians “intended to carry an attack out.”

The Foreign Affairs Ministry called on the International Community to act on providing the needed protection for the Palestinian people and called on the International Criminal Court to immediately start investigating Israeli crimes against Palestinian civilians.

Samer Mahmoud Khaled

September 01, 2022: Samer Mahmoud Suleiman Khaled, 25, was killed by Israeli soldiers in front of the main entrance of Balata refugee camp, east of Nablus, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.

Palestinian sources said Samer was shot with a live round in the neck while sitting in his car.

The sources added that the young man was assassinated by undercover Israeli soldiers who targeted him with many live rounds.

After killing the young man, the undercover Israeli soldiers exchanged fire with Palestinian resistance fighters in the area.

The soldiers also invaded the Balata refugee camp, searched homes, and abducted a former political prisoner, Jasser Abu Hamada.

The Israeli army fired a barrage of live rounds, gas bombs, and concussion grenades, resulting in serious damage to a store causing it to catch fire and burn.

The Israeli soldiers also invaded the Al-Biereh city in the Ramallah and Al-Biereh governorate, in the central part of the occupied West Bank, leading to protests before the soldiers fired dozens of live rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets, gas bombs, and concussion grenades.

Medical sources said the soldiers killed a young man, Yazan Naim Affana, 24, in Al-Biereh after shooting him with live fire while the army withdrew from Um ash-Sharayet neighborhood in Al-Biereh city.

Mohammad Marzouq Arayshy

IbrahimAugust 23, 2022: Mohammad Marzouq Arayshy, 25, died of wounds sustained when he was shot and seriously injured two weeks earlier in the northern West Bank city of Nablus.

The funeral procession started in front of Rafidia Hospital in Nablus, before the Palestinians marched to Nablus’s Old City to his home, before heading to the Shuhada graveyard.

It is worth mentioning that Mohammad was seriously injured on August 9th, 2022, when the Israeli army initiated a massive offensive into Nablus, killing three Palestinians and wounding at least 40.

In addition, the Israeli army fired many live rounds at Palestinian ambulances, prevented many medics from entering the areas it was invading, and later published a propaganda picture claiming the ambulance “was being used to shelter those throwing stones at the soldiers.”

However, a video from the scene shows the medics and a few Palestinians trying to get the seriously wounded young man into the ambulance so that it can speed up to the hospital.

Due to ongoing protests, the medics loaded the seriously wounded Palestinian as fast as possible, and the soldiers were still firing at the protesters.

Wasim Nasser Abu Khalifa

WasimAugust 18, 2022: Wasim Nasser Abu Khalifa, 18, was shot and killed by Israeli forces who were invading the Balata refugee camp, which was Wasim’s home. The soldiers also injured at least 36 others, including three who suffered life-threatening wounds, in Nablus, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.

Ahmad Jibril, the spokesperson of the Nablus office of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS), said the soldiers killed Wasim Nasser Abu Khalifa, 18, from Balata refugee camp, after shooting him with two live rounds in the upper chest, including one to the heart. The medics rushed Wasim to the Rafidia Hospital in Nablus, but he succumbed to his serious wounds despite all efforts to save his life.

Jibril added that the soldiers also shot three young men with live rounds  in the chest, neck area and the abdomen, causing life-threatening wounds, in addition to one who was shot with a high-velocity gas bomb to the chest, and were all rushed to local hospitals, and 27 who suffered the effects of tear gas inhalation who received treatment by PRCS medics.

Most of the Palestinians who suffered the effects of tear gas inhalation are children, including infants, who were injured while in their homes due to the intensity of the Israeli fire.

The Israeli invasions targeted many areas in Nablus, including the main invasion into Joseph’s Tomb area, Amman Street, Balata refugee camp and many surrounding communities.

Palestinian resistance fighters also exchanged fire with the soldiers invading the Joseph Tomb area, Amman Street, in addition to Askar and Balata refugee camp.

Ibrahim Milhem, the spokesperson of the Palestinian Government, denounced the killing of the Palestinian teen in Nablus, and the ongoing crimes against the Palestinian people across occupied Palestine, and denounced the international silence and complicity, and those who justify the Israeli crimes.

Media sources said dozens of soldiers in many armored vehicles and troop carriers accompanied several buses transporting illegal colonizers into Joseph’s Tomb area in the eastern part of the city, leading to protests.

They added that the army fired many live rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets, and gas bombs, causing dozens of Palestinians to suffer the effects of tear gas inhalation.

The invasions and protests mainly took place in the Amman Street area near Askar and Balata refugee camps.

It is worth mentioning that the army frequently invades the eastern area of Nablus to accompany the colonists into the historic site, an issue that leads to protests, in addition to the ongoing invasions of homes and the abduction of many Palestinians.

Joseph the patriarch is revered by Jews, Muslims, Christians, and Samaritans alike, however, the Israeli military allows Jews to visit as part of organized pilgrimages, despite the site being in Area A where the PA has full control and prohibits Muslims from worshiping at the site.

Ultra-orthodox and nationalist Jews regularly try to visit the shrine without approval, as many Jews believe the tomb to be the final resting place of the biblical figure in the Old Testament.

Palestinians believe that Joseph’s Tomb is the funerary monument to Sheikh Yousif Dweikat, a local religious figure.

The Palestinian Ministry Of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned the killing of the young man and said the attack was “part of Israel’s ongoing crimes and field executions carried out against the Palestinian people, under direct orders from its military and the political leaderships.”

It called on the United Nations to act and provide the Palestinian people with urgently needed international protection and vowed to submit another complaint to the International Criminal Court.

The Ministry called on the International Community to end its idleness and silence and to act to hold Israel accountable for its ongoing illegal occupation and its escalating crimes.
