March 30, 2018: Wahid Nasrallah Abu Sammour, 27, was killed by Israeli soldiers early in the morning when the soldiers fired tank and artillery shells at several Palestinian farmers, east of the Al-Qarara area, east of Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.

In addition to killing Wahid, the shelling severely wounded another Palestinian farmer who was in the same area. The wounded man was rushed to the European Hospital, in Khan Younis.

Medical sources said the 27-year old farmer was killed by a shell fired from an Israeli tank, stationed across the border fence.

They were working on their land near the border fence area, and local sources confirmed that the attack targeted them, and several other farmers.

There were no processions or confrontation in the area, or in the entirety of the Gaza Strip the entire coastal region, when the Israeli attack was carried out.

The army refused to comment on the incident, and told reporters who asked that they were “checking for details about it.”

On Thursday evening, the soldiers shot seven Palestinians, near border areas east of Khan Younis, and Gaza city.

The fatal Israeli attack, and the injuries, came shortly after the Israeli military, and the political leadership in Tel Aviv, decided on “shoot to kill orders” against Palestinians who breach, or even approach the border fence.

The Israeli Cabinet also decided to significantly increase military deployments, in addition to using live fire and shoot to kill orders “if the Palestinians breach (or approach) the security fence” in the besieged coastal territory. Mohammad Ata Abu Jame’

March 03, 2018: Mohammad Ata Abu Jame’, 59, was shot and killed by Israeli soldiers while working on his land in Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.

The Palestinian Health Ministry reported that the farmer was shot by the soldiers, and suffered a serious injury, while working on his own land, in Khuza’a area, east of Khan Younis.

He was rushed to Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, but died from his serious wounds, later the same day, March 3rd.

His wife said that she was heading to the family’s land to bring food for her husband when she heard the shots, and then she heard the husband screaming in pain and asking her to call for an ambulance.

Both Mohammad’s wife and their son said that there was no reason for the soldiers to shoot Mohammad, because he was just working on his land, and the situation was calm, and added that the man was very healthy, and always loved to work and plant the land.

“Our only problem is that our land is located near the border fence which was installed by Israel,” the son said, “They shot him for nothing — this was the first time that the soldiers open fire at us on our land…”

There were no protests near the border area when the soldiers shot the Palestinian man, and there was no reason for opening fire.

It is worth mentioning that the army frequently invades Palestinian lands located close to the border fence, and constantly opens fire at farmers and workers, an issue that has led to dozens of casualties, including many fatalities.

Shadi al-Hemri

October 30th, 2017: Shadi Sami al-Hemri was killed in the Israeli bombardment of a border tunnel in Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip. He was one of twelve killed in the tunnel bombardment. Initial reports were that seven were killed, while the bodies of Shadi and four other men were found buried in the rubble several days later.

The Israeli army fired at least five missiles into the tunnel, which was still under construction in the area near Kissufim military base, across the border fence.

The tunnel was run by Al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad. Ten of those killed were members of the Al-Quds Brigades, while two were members of the Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, who entered the tunnel after the bombing to assist with the search and rescue operations.

The Israeli army said it carried out what it called “a scheduled detonation of a new tunnel, which was under construction near the border fence.” The bombing was instantly followed by heavy deployment of armored vehicles and fighter jets, in the area, especially east of Khan Younis.

A number of Palestinian armed resistance groups responded to the bombardment by issuing calls for retaliation against Israel, and criticizing Israel for what they claimed was an unnecessary escalation.
