Bara’ Adel al-‘Amour

November 2, 2019: Bara’ Adel al-‘Amour, 30, a fighter with the al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas movement, died from serious wounds he suffered during the Israeli war on Gaza in the summer of 2014.

In a statement, the al-Qassam Brigades said the fighter, Bara’ Adel al-‘Amour, 30, was injured in Khan Younis, in the southern part of the coastal region.

Dozens of Qassam fighters were killed during the 51-day Israeli offensive on Gaza in the summer of 2014.

During the ongoing and indiscriminatory bombardment and shelling on the Gaza Strip, the army targeted hundreds of homes, public facilities, hospitals, and medical centers, mosques, roads and infrastructure.

The al-Mezan Center for Human Rights has reported that the Israeli offensive left 2.219 Palestinians dead, most of them are civilians. Thousands more were injured, including dozens who died from their wounds, months or years later.

The Israeli bombardment and shelling resulted in the obliteration of 142 families, including women, infants, children and the elderly.

Mohammad Jawabra

Mohammad Jawabra November 11, 2014: Mohammad Imad Jawabra, 19, was killed by Israeli soldiers who invaded the al-‘Arroub refugee camp, in the southern West Bank district of Hebron.

He was killed after a bullet, fired by soldiers occupying a rooftop of a nearby home, struck him in the chest through the window of his home.

Ziad Tareq ar-Reefy

boy-nophotoSeptember 01, 2014: Ziad Tareq ar-Reefy, 9, was killed by an Israeli missile that struck his family home in Gaza city; he was seriously injured in the strike on August 21, 2014, and died from his wounds on September 1, 2014.

The child was injured when the Israeli army fired a missile at the family’s farmland, in the Tuffah neighborhood, in Gaza city.

The Israeli missile instantly killed the child’s father Nasr Ziad ar-Reefy, 35, in addition to his brother Abdullah Tareq ar-Reefy, 7, his cousin Omar Nasr ar-Reefy, 4, Omar’s father, Mohammad Ziad Abed-Rabbo ar-Reefy, 28.

The Al-Mezan Center for Human Rights reported at the time that, on Thursday morning August 21st, 2014, an Israeli war jet fired a missile toward farmland owned by ar-Reefy family, near the an-Nafaq Street, north of Gaza city, killing five members of the family, including three children, and wounding four, including two children, identified as Maram ar-Reefi, and Ziad Tareq ar-Reefy, 9, who later died from his wounds.

It said the soldiers killed Ahmad Tareq ar-Reefy, Mohammad Tareq ar-Reefy, 13, Abdullah Tareq ar-Reefy, 6, and Mohammad Ziad Abed-Rabbo ar-Reefy, 28, and injured dozens, many of them seriously.

A few hours later, the army fired a missile into Sheikh Radwan Graveyard, north of Gaza city, killing four graveyard workers and caretakers, identified as Abdul-Rahim Talal Shweikh, 22, Rami Hamdi Salem, 20, Mohammad Hamdi Salem, 18, and Awsam Talal Shweikh, 45, in addition to seriously wounding Salem Abu Ghaddayeen, 28.

The Al-Mezan Center for Human Rights said the soldiers killed at least 2218 Palestinians during the 51-day Israeli offensive on the coastal region, while dozens later died from their serious wounds. Around 84% of the slain Palestinians were civilians, including hundreds of children.

Al-Mezan stated that the Israeli bombardment and shelling of Palestinian homes, residential buildings and structures, resulted in wiping out entire families, while dozens of families lost multiple members. According to UN OCHA, 142 families lost 3 members or more in the Israeli attacks.

Nidal Soheil Badawi

Nidal BadawiAugust 25th, 2014: Nidal Soheil Hamdan Badawi, 24, years old, died on August 25th of wounds sustained two days prior, on August 23rd, 2014 in al-‘Adas, in the Rafah District of southern Gaza.

He was injured by a missile fired from an Israeli military aircraft while he was walking on Saddam Hussein St. in Rafah. He was a member of the military wing of the Islamic Jihad.

His killing came in the midst of a massive Israeli military invasion of Gaza during July and August 2014, in which

Hassan Hazem ‘Abd al-Hamid ‘Ashur

August 25, 2014: Hassan Hazem ‘Abd al-Hamid ‘Ashur, 16, was injured on 22 Aug 2014 in Beit Furik, Nablus District, by live ammunition, and died on 25 Aug 2014.

He was shot in the abdomen by Israeli forces in a demonstration to protest the military’s actions in Operation Protective Edge in Gaza.

He died of his wounds on 25 August 2014.

Rawia Ibrahim Jouda

August 24, 2014: Rawia Ibrahim Mohammad Jouda, 43, was killed by a missile fired by an Israeli drone targeting the house of Issam Mustafa Jouda, located near the Al Shora mosque in Tal Al Za’tar neighborhood in Jabaliya, in the North Gaza district. Rawia was killed along with her four children.

The victims were identified as follows:

  1. Rawia Ibrahim Mohammad Jouda (43) Issam’s wife
  2. Tasneem Issam Jouda (14) His daughter
  3. Raghad Issam Jouda (12) His daughter
  4. Mohammad Issam Jouda (8) His son
  5. Osama Issam Jouda (6) His son

In his affidavit to Al Mezan, Issam stated that his family was sitting in their garden while he was inside the house when he heard the sound of a loud explosion. He added that he saw heavy smoke and dust covering the garden. When he went to the garden he saw the bodies of his wife and four children torn into pieces.

August 21, 2014: Nassr Ziad ar-Reefy, 35, died when the Israeli army fired a missile at his home, during the Israeli war in the Gaza Strip, in the summer of 2014.

Nassr’s son, Omar Nasr Ziad ar-Reefy, 4, was killed instantly. His other son, Mohammad Nasr ar-Reefy, then 10, was seriously injured, with injuries and shrapnel all over his body, including a piece in his spine, resulting in quadriplegia and various health complications. Mohammad died in November 2018 at age 14.

In addition, the Israeli missile instantly killed Mohammad Ziad ar-Reefy, 28, in addition to the children’s cousin Abdullah Tareq ar-Reefy, 7, and Abdullah’s brother Ziad, 13.

August 21, 2014: Mohammad Ziad Abed-Rabbo ar-Reefy, 28, died when the Israeli army fired a missile at his home, during the Israeli war in the Gaza Strip, in the summer of 2014.

Mohammad’s nephew, Omar Nasr Ziad ar-Reefy, 4, was killed instantly.
