July 20, 2014: Shon Mondshine, 19, was killed by Palestinian fighters during Operation Protective Edge military offensive.
Shon was a soldier who was killed in gun battles with Palestinian fighters, after the army invaded the Sheja’eyya neighborhood, in Gaza city.
The Israeli army issued a statement confirming that Shon was killed along with six other soldiers when an anti-tank missile struck their armored vehicle.
The number of soldiers killed in the same incident includes a soldier who was severely injured, and died from his wounds five days later. Shon was from Tel Aviv-Yaffo. Source: Haaretz
