July 22, 2018: Arkan Tha’er Mezher, 15, died after being shot with a live round in the chest while protesting the invasion of his refugee camp, Deheishe Camp in Bethlehem, by Israeli soldiers in the pre-dawn hours.

After the child was shot, he was rushed Beit Jala (al-Hussein) Governmental Hospital, where he was declared dead.

His death came as dozens of Israeli soldiers invaded, on Monday at dawn, the Deheishe refugee camp, south of the West Bank city of Bethlehem, killing Arkan injuring two young men and causing dozens to suffer the effects of teargas inhalation.

Media sources in Bethlehem said the soldiers invaded the camp, storming and ransacking homes, causing damage.

They added that dozens of youngsters protested the invasions, and hurled stones at the soldiers, who fired many live rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets, gas bombs and concussion grenades.

In addition, the soldiers abducted two young men from the camp.

Ya’coub Fayeq Nassar

July 8, 2018: Ya’coub Fayeq Nassar, 18, died of wounds sustained 9 years ago, in 2009, when he was shot by Israeli forces and paralyzed.

Palestinian medical sources in Hebron, in the southern part of the occupied West Bank, said that Yacoub died, Sunday, from very serious complications resulting from wounds, he suffered in 2009, after Israeli soldiers shot him.

Yacoub was just a child, 9 years of age, when the soldiers shot him in his spine, in the al-Fawwar refugee camp, south of Hebron in the southern part of the West Bank, and suffered ongoing complications.

His injury caused paralysis, and he spent years being transferred to various Palestinian hospitals in West Bank, and was eventually moved to an Israeli hospital where he underwent many surgeries and medical procedures.

In February of last year, the doctors at Ichilov Hospital had to amputate his legs, but his condition continued to deteriorate, and he suffered a renal failure, before eventually succumbing to his wounds.

Ezzeddin Abdul-Hafith Tamimi

June 6, 2018: Ezzeddin Abdul-Hafith Tamimi, 21, was shot by Israeli soldiers in Nabi Saleh village with three live rounds from very close range in an extrajudicial assassination. The soldiers then prevented Palestinian medics from approaching Ezzeddin as he lay, critically injured, on the ground.

According to eyewitnesses, Palestinian medics tried to provide aid to the seriously wounded man, but the soldiers assaulted them, and threatened to shoot them. Ezzeddin then succumbed to his injuries.

When Ezzeddin’s mother was informed that he was killed, she rushed to see him, but the soldiers sprayed her face with pepper-spray and forced her away.

Ezzeddin worked as a car mechanic, but was listed as ‘wanted’ by the Israeli military eighteen months ago. The soldiers have made numerous attempts over the past eighteen months to intercept the young man, including invading his home and shooting him.

The Israeli army also abducted his brother to pressure him into turning himself in to the army.

A few weeks before assassinating Ezzeddin, the army called one of his brothers, and told him that “Ezzeddin will face the same fate of Ahmad Nasr Jarrar, (who was killed by the soldiers on February 06, 2018), if he does not surrender.”

Eyewitnesses said the soldiers assassinated the Palestinian, directly and repeatedly firing at him, in addition to attacking dozens of other Palestinians in the town.

The soldiers also shot another Palestinian with a live round and caused many others to suffer the effects of teargas inhalation, during protests that took place after the soldiers killed Ezzeddin.

After the soldiers killed Ezzeddin, they invaded many homes, including his home, and occupied their rooftops.

Rami Wahid Hasan Sabarna

June 2, 2018: Rami Wahid Hasan Sabarna, 36, was shot and killed by Israeli soldiers in Hebron, in the southern part of the occupied West Bank, while he and other workers were conducting work for the Hebron City Council to rehabilitate and expand a road near the Ibrahimi Mosque.

The Health Ministry in Hebron said the soldiers fatally shot Rami in Jaber neighborhood in the Old City, near the military roadblock leading to the Ibrahimi Mosque.

The Ministry added that the soldiers also stopped a Palestinian ambulance at the scene, and prevented the medics from approaching the Palestinian, before he bled to death.

An Israeli ambulance later arrived, and its medics placed Rami’s body in a black bag and took it away.

The army claimed that the Palestinian worker “attempted to ram the soldiers with his vehicle, before they shot him,” an allegation which was denied by eyewitnesses, who said the young man was just working, and did not attempt to attack the soldiers, or harm them in any way.

Aref Jaber, a local nonviolent activist against the Annexation Wall and Colonies, who lives near the area where the army killed the worker, said Sabarna was driving a small and loud bulldozer, and added that the worker passed by some soldiers who then started shouting at him an ordering him to stop.

“He did not pose any threat to them, he passed by them and could not hear their shouts and orders,” Aref said, “Then, they just opened fire at him and his bulldozer, seriously wounded him, before removing him from his vehicle and leaving him to bleed on the ground. When Red Crescent medics arrived, the soldiers prevented them from providing Sabarna with the urgently needed treatment, and he bled to death, before the soldiers placed his corpse in a black plastic bag and took him away.”

The soldiers also removed media outlets from the area, and prevented the journalists from performing their duties.

Rami’s death follows the killing of a young Palestinian woman the day before, a volunteer medic identified as Razan Ashraf Najjar, 22. On the same day, Israeli forces injured 100 Palestinians, including 40 with live fire, in the Gaza Strip.

Akram Odai Abu Khalil

May 23, 2018: Akram Odai Abu Khalil, 15, died of wounds sustained The Palestinian Health Ministry has reported, on Wednesday evening, that a child died from serious wounds he suffered, eight days earlier, after Israeli soldiers shot him at the northern entrance of al-Biereh city, in central West Bank.

The Ministry said the child was shot with a live round in his abdomen, and was rushed to Palestine Medical Complex, in Ramallah, before he was moved to the Najah Hospital, in the northern West Bank city of Nablus.

The child remained in a coma, in a very serious condition, until he succumbed to his wounds.

The Ministry stated that his death brings the number of Palestinians, killed by Israeli army fire since the beginning of the Great Return March on Palestinian Land Day, on March 30, 2018, to 118 including 14 children.

Akram was critically injured while participating in a protest against the U.S. moving its Embassy to Jerusalem on Monday May 14^th, 2018. The protest also focused on commemorating the 70^th anniversary of the Nakba (Catastrophe), when hundreds of thousands of Palestinians were displaced from their homes for the creation of the state of Israel – creating the largest refugee population on earth, many of whom remain in exile generations later.

While Akram and thousands of others protested in the West Bank, thousands more Palestinians were simultaneously protesting in the Gaza Strip, where they were mowed down with live ammunition from Israeli forces. The Palestinian Health Ministry confirmed that Israeli soldiers killed 60 Palestinians on Monday, May 14th, 2018, including an eight month old baby, 6 children and four officers of the Ministry of Interior and National Security, in the Gaza Strip, and injured more than 2700.

Aziz ‘Oweisat

May 20, 2018: Aziz ‘Oweisat, 53, died at an Israeli hospital from serious complications after he was assaulted by several Israeli soldiers in the prison, after they claimed he attacked an officer with a sharp object.

The Palestinian Detainees’ Committee said ‘Oweisat was taken prisoner on March 24, 2014, and was sentenced to a life term.

The Committee added that he suffered brain hemorrhage and a heart attack after the soldiers continuously assaulting him in Eshil Israeli prison, on May 2, 2018, and went into a coma before he was moved to Ramla Israeli Medical Center.

Later, the detainee was moved to Assaf Harofeh Medical Center due to the seriousness of his condition, but he suffered further deterioration, and was transferred to Tal HaShomer Medical Center.

On May 10^th, 2018, he underwent heart surgery at Tal HaShomer Israeli Medical Center.

Despite his serious condition, he was returned to Assaf Harofeh Medical Center, after the Administration of Tal HaShomer refused to keep him hospitalized at their facility.

The Detainees’ Committee said he died at Assaf Harofeh Medical Center, due to the seriousness of his condition.

Prior to his death, the Committee filed an urgent appeal with an Israeli court asking for his release so that he could receive steady medical attention, and the court scheduled the hearing for May 25^th. He did not make it to the hearing, however, since he died on May 20^th.

The detainees in Israeli prisons and detention camps declared a three-day mourning period, and demanded that Israel be held accountable for its violations and crimes.

The Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) held Israel fully responsible for his death, especially since the Israeli Prison Authority refused to release him despite its knowledge of his serious condition.

It added that seven Palestinian detainees have died in the last five years after being denied medical attention, in addition to ‘Oweisat.

The PPS also said that 216 Palestinians have died in Israeli prisons and interrogation centers since Israel occupied the West Bank, the Gaza Strip, Golan and East Jerusalem, in 1967.

It added that 75 detainees were executed after the soldiers arrested them, 72 died while being tortured during interrogation, 7 were killed by the soldiers in prisons, and 62 died after being denied medical treatment.

May 15, 2018: Edrees Shaker Jabareen, 58, died from the severe effects of teargas inhalation, after Israeli soldiers invaded the ad-Dowwara area, in Sa’ir town, south of the southern West Bank city of Hebron, and resorted to the excessive use of force against nonviolent Palestinian protesters.

Jabareen, a member of the Local Council in Sa’ir town, was rushed to the Emergency Unit at the al-Ahli Hospital, but died from the severe effects of the toxic gas bombs fired by the soldiers.

The Palestinian suffocated near his home in the ad-Dowwara area, after the soldiers fired dozens of gas bombs at the protesters, and was rushed to the al-Ahli Hospital, in Hebron, where he died at the Urgent Care Unit.

Medics said the man was standing near his home talking to some other Palestinians, but the intensity of the Israeli gas bombs covered the entire area before he collapsed, and was rushed to the hospital.

Edrees did not suffer from any health issues, or preexisting conditions, especially since he underwent routine medical checkups just a few days prior to his death, and received a clean bill of health.

On the same day, an armed Israeli colonialist settler tried to ram a young man, identified as Bilal Za’tari, 28, with his car near Khirbat Qalqas area, south of Hebron city, and when the man managed to run away, the settler shot him with a live round in his arm, and fled the scene.

The wounded young man suffered a moderate injury, and was rushed to the Al-Ahli Hospital.

Furthermore, the soldiers attacked protesters in the al-‘Arroub refugee camp, north of Hebron, with live fire, gas bombs and concussion grenades, in addition to directly targeting a home with gas bombs, causing many Palestinians to suffer the effects of teargas inhalation.

Hani Fayez al-’Adarba

May 11, 2018: Hani Fayez al-’Adarba, 23, died of wounds sustained two days earlier when he was intentionally hit by an Israeli colonial settler vehicle.

Palestinian medical sources in Hebron, in the southern part of the occupied West Bank, reported that the young man died from serious wounds he suffered on May 9th, after being rammed by an Israeli colonial settler’s bus.

The sources said that Hani was struck by the speeding Israeli bus on settlement road #35, which links to Tarqoumia terminal and road #60, near Halhoul, north of Hebron city.

Despite eyewitness accounts that the vehicle intentionally struck Hani, Israeli police decided not to investigate the incident as a potential terror attack.

Hani suffered various serious fractures and internal injuries, and was moved to an Israeli hospital where he died from his wounds two days later.

On the same day that Hani died, the Israeli army shot and killed one Palestinian, identified as Jaber Salem Abu Mustafa, 40, and injured 167, including seven who suffered very serious wounds, in several parts of the Gaza Strip during protests marking the “Great March of Return”.

Mohammad Abdul-Karim Marshoud

April 9, 2018: Mohammad Abdul-Karim Marshoud, 30, died from serious wounds he suffered Sunday when an Israeli colonial settler shot him near Mishor Adumim colony between Jerusalem and Jericho.

The sources said that Mohammad died from his serious wounds on Monday evening. The Israeli army claimed that the Palestinian attempted to carry out a stabbing attack with a screwdriver near Mishor Adumim colony.

Israeli media sources said that an Israeli settler claims that he was driving in his car near the settlement when he saw a Palestinian allegedly holding a screwdriver and chasing an Israeli man. The unnamed Israeli settler told the reporters that he then pulled his car over and shot the Palestinian in the head.

The Israeli colonial settler who shot Mohammad Marshoud in the head has not been taken into custody for the killing, and has not been identified by Israeli authorities.

Initially, the Israeli military tried to claim that Mohammad was holding a knife – a claim which had to be retracted when it was proven untrue.

In addition, photos released by the Israeli military show Mohammad Marshoud lying bleeding on the street, but no screwdriver can be seen anywhere in the scene. No gas station is visible in the area either.

The Palestinian father of three was critically injured by the gunshot to his head and left to bleed on the ground as Israeli soldiers were called to the scene and took their time to secure the area before calling in an ambulance.

Eventually, he was taken by ambulance to the intensive care unit in Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem. He remained in critical condition on life support until he died of his wounds on Monday.

Mohammad was the father of three young children, and had no political affiliation or indication in any way that he would engage in any kind of attack.

Mohammad Sobhi Anbar

April 8, 2018: Mohammad Sobhi Anbar, 46, died of critical wounds sustained on April 2nd when Israeli soldiers shot him multiple times at a checkpoint near Tulkarem on April 2^nd.

Mohammad was shot in front of the military roadblock east of Tulkarem, and was taken to the Mayer Israeli Medical Center.

He remained in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit until April 8^th, when he died of his wounds.

While he was in a coma, an Israeli military court held a hearing and made a ruling against Anbar, claiming that he was planning to attack Israeli soldiers at the checkpoint, despite a complete lack of evidence of that claim.

His brother Khalil Anbar said that the Israeli Army informed the family of his death, and added that he was shot in the abdomen, pelvis and the legs, and one of his legs had to be amputated during surgery. He said his brother underwent several surgeries in the days since he was shot.

Israeli daily Haaretz said the soldiers shot the man, 46 years of age, after he reportedly “ran towards them in a suspicious manner,” near the al-Kafriyyat military roadblock, east of Tulkarem.

It added that the soldiers did not find any weapons on the wounded man, and initiated an investigation into the issue, after moving him to an Israeli hospital.

Following the incident, dozens of soldiers were deployed in the area, before closing the military roadblock and its surrounding area.
