Jibril Mohammad Al-Lad’a

May 01, 2023: Jibril Mohammad Al-Lad’a, 17, was killed by Israeli soldiers who invaded the Aqabat Jaber refugee camp south of Jericho in the northeastern part of the occupied West Bank.

Medical sources said many Israeli military vehicles invaded the refugee camp, leading to protests before the soldiers fatally shot Jibril with a live round in the head.

After shooting Jibril, the soldiers left him bleeding on the ground without first aid until Palestinian medics were later allowed to approach him.

The sources added that the soldiers also shot six other Palestinians, including three who suffered life-threatening wounds before they were moved to Palestine Medical Complex in Ramallah due to the seriousness of their wounds.

Eid Barahma, the head of the Jericho office of the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS), said the soldiers also invaded and ransacked many homes in the refugee camp before abducting Ahmad Jabr Wahdan and the secretary of the Fateh movement in the refugee camp, and Jihad Abu Al-Asal.

Thousands of Palestinians participated in the funeral ceremony and procession, starting in front of the Jericho governmental hospital before heading to the teen’s family home in the refugee camp, where prayers were held in the local mosque before he was buried at the local cemetery.

A general strike was declared in Jericho to mourn the teen’s death and to condemn the seriously escalating Israeli crime and violations.

It is worth mentioning that the army continued the strict siege on Jericho for the tenth consecutive day, searching dozens of Palestinian vehicles and interrogating the citizens, forcing them to wait many hours at the various military roadblocks around the city.

Earlier in the day, Israeli soldiers invaded Bethlehem city and nearby Beit Jala, in the occupied West Bank, seriously shot a young Palestinian man and abducted a man from his home.

The soldiers also abducted at least twenty Palestinians across the occupied West Bank, including fathers and their sons.

Taha’s killing is similar to how undercover Israeli soldiers executed Nidal Amin Khazem, 28, at point-blank after he was already shot and seriously injured on March 16, 2023, in Jenin, in the northern West Bank.

It is similar to how the soldiers killed Ahmad Hasan Kahla, 45, on January 15, 2023, underneath the Yabroud Bridge, east of Ramallah in the central West Bank. Khala was a married father of five children and was with his oldest son, Qussai, 20, when he was killed.

On Monday, April 24, a paramilitary Israeli colonizer killed Hatem As’ad Abu Najma, 39, a married father of five from Beit Safafa town, south of occupied Jerusalem, after he reportedly injured seven Israelis in what the army called a ramming attack in occupied Jerusalem.

Israeli sources claimed the Palestinian was shot after “attempting to stab soldiers and officer at the Gitai Junction before he was neutralized at the scene.”

A video from the scene shows an Israeli officer ordering Taha to step out of his car, and once he got out of the car, he reached for his wallet before many soldiers started firing at him.

The man did not appear to be armed or carrying a knife and was trying to get his ID card to show it to the soldiers.

After killing him, the soldiers closed the entire area to Palestinian traffic and forced the Palestinians to leave.

April 24, 2023: Hatem As’ad Abu Najma, 39, was killed by an armed Israeli man in Jerusalem after he reportedly injured seven Israelis in what the army called a ramming attack.

Media sources said the colonizer fatally shot Hatem, a married father of five children from Beit Safafa town, south of occupied Jerusalem.

Israeli sources said the Palestinian “rammed several Israelis with his car in Davidka Square,” nearly one block away from “Mahaneh Yehuda” market, wounding seven, including a man, about 80 years old, who suffered serious wounds and a woman in her 30s who suffered moderate-but-stable injuries.

The seriously wounded man is reported to be sedated and hooked to a respiratory machine at the Intensive Care Unit at the Sha’are Zedek Medical Center.

The Jerusalem Post quoted the Israeli police stating that the Palestinian “sped up at an intersection deliberately ramming pedestrians” and added that he then “slowed down and stopped before an armed civilian shot and killed him.”

A video from the scene shows the colonizer shooting the Palestinian man through the closed side window of his car while he posed no threat or even attempted to leave it.

The Israeli military and internal security said Hatem was not known to have any affiliation with Palestinian political faction or armed groups and added that he had a history of mental illness.

After the incident, which potentially could have been a traffic accident, several Israeli teenagers gathered in the area, chanting “We want vengeance” while raising Israeli flags and “Ben-Gvir go home,” referring to the fanatic right-wing Israeli National Security Minister, Itama Ben-Gvir.
