May 31, 2019: Yousef Wajeeh Sohweil, 18, was killed by Israeli police officers in occupied East Jerusalem, after he reportedly stabbed and injured two Israelis, and attempted to attack a police officer.

Israeli sources said the Palestinian came from the West Bank to attend Friday prayers in Al-Aqsa Mosque, on the last Friday of Ramadan.

Israeli online daily, The Jerusalem Post, said an Israeli man, in his fifties, suffered critical wounds, and added that a teen, 16 years of age, suffered moderate-to-severe wounds.

It quoted the Superintendent of the Israeli Police in Jerusalem Micky Rosenfeld telling its reporter that one Israeli was stabbed and critically injured at Damascus Gate, and that the second Israel was stabbed and moderately injured when the Palestinian managed to make it through the gate to the Old City, before the officers shot him dead.

Following the incident, the Israeli army and police significantly increased their deployment in the Old City, and all areas leading to the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The soldiers started searching hundreds of worshipers, after ordering them out of several buses in Wadi al-Jouz neighborhood, and forced them to walk a long distance towards the mosque.

It is worth mentioning that this incident took place on the last Friday of the holy Muslim month of Ramadan.

Earlier Friday, the soldiers killed a Palestinian child near the West Bank city of Bethlehem, and injured a young man from Hebron, while trying to enter Jerusalem for Friday prayers in the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Media sources said the soldiers shot and killed Abdullah Luay Gheith, 16, from the southern West Bank city of Hebron, after opening fire at him and several Palestinians, who were trying to enter Jerusalem from Wad Abu al-Hummus area, near the villages of al-Khass and an-No’man, east of Bethlehem.

May 31, 2019: Abdullah Luay Gheith, 16, was killed by Israeli soldiers near the West Bank city of Bethlehem while trying to enter Jerusalem for Friday prayers in the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Media sources said the soldiers shot and killed Abdullah, from the southern West Bank city of Hebron, after opening fire at him and several Palestinians, who were trying to enter Jerusalem from Wad Abu al-Hummus area, near the villages of al-Khass and an-No’man, east of Bethlehem.

The slain Palestinian child was shot with live Israeli military gunfire in his heart, and died instantly after the soldiers shot him.

They added that the soldiers also shot and seriously injured a young man, identified as Mo’men Abu Tbeish, 21, in the same incident.

The seriously wounded young man, from Hadabat al-Fawwar area, near Hebron, was rushed by Palestinian medics to Beit Jala governmental hospital.

It is worth mentioning that the soldiers, stationed at Mazmouria military roadblock east of Bethlehem, opened fire at many Palestinians, who were not granted permits to enter occupied Jerusalem, and were trying to enter the city for prayers in Al-Aqsa.

In related news, the soldiers abducted a young man at Qalandia Terminal, north of occupied Jerusalem, while trying to enter Jerusalem for prayers in Al-Aqsa.

May 21, 2019: Mohammad Abdul-Jawad Zo’rob, 30, died from complications resulting from wounds he suffered in April 2018, when Israeli soldiers shot him during the Great Return March processions in the Gaza Strip.

His parents said their son was shot by Israeli army fire on April 27^th, 2018.

They added that he suffered various complications since then, and developed tumors that eventually led to his death, especially amidst the lack of medical supplies in the besieged and impoverished Gaza Strip.

He was shot with an expanding bullet, and underwent several surgeries, but also suffered several infections in the wound area, eventually resulting in cancer.

Israeli soldiers have killed 307 Palestinians, including medics and journalists, and injured more than 29000, since the Great Return March procession started in the Gaza Strip, on Palestinian land Day, March 30^th, 2018.

Mahmoud Hasan Awadallah

May 21, 2019: Mahmoud Hasan Awadallah, 22, drowned to death near the shore of Samos Island in Greece after trying to escape from the impoverished and besieged Gaza Strip via Turkey.

The Greek Coastguard announced that they had recovered the corpse of Mahmoud, a Palestinian immigrant who went missing 17 days ago. He drowned after trying to immigrate to Greece from Turkey, without documents.

His family said they lost contact with him nearly 17 days ago, after he left Turkey in an attempt to reach Greece.

Two weeks ago, another Palestinian, identified as Mohammad Bahissy, from Deir al-Balah in central Gaza, died under similar circumstances near the Turkish coast.

May 19, 2019: Aisha Lulu, 5, died soon after enduring a brain surgery in Jerusalem alone because her parents were denied entry permits.

Aisha, a 5-year old Palestinian child from Gaza, was finally allowed permission to travel to Jerusalem for a complicated brain surgery, but was forced to travel alone when Israeli authorities denied her parents permission to accompany her. ٍShe suffered from a brain tumor and died soon after the surgery.

According to the Palestinian Minister of Health Mai Alkaila, Aisha Lulu, 5 years old, died after returning to Gaza from surgery in Jerusalem, and a harrowing journey through numerous Israeli checkpoints that she had to endure alone.

Alkaila stated, “How can a little child travel alone through Israeli checkpoints without being escorted by her mother, father or brother to provide her with affection and psychological support during treatment?”

According to the Palestinian Wafa News Agency, none of Lulu’s family members were allowed by Israel to be on her side in hospital as applications by her family members to accompany her to Jerusalem for her complicated brain surgery were denied.

She had to travel with a woman, who wasn’t her mother or even related to her, and was allowed by Israel to accompany her.

In a press statement, Alkaila added, “Aisha had to fight her disease alone, in a blatant disregard to international agreements, covenants and treaties on human rights, children’s rights, the right to health and access to health services in a safe manner,.”

According to Wafa, Aisha suffered psychologically throughout the entire ordeal, and was seen crying and calling for her mother loudly to be beside her in the hospital.

Alkaila called on the international community to intervene, and to demand that Israel allow parents to accompany Palestinian children who are forced to leave the Gaza Strip for surgery.

Due to the Israeli siege imposed on Gaza since 2007, hundreds of Palestinian patients have died from being denied proper medical treatment. The hospitals in Gaza remain severely under-equipped, and sick Palestinians must travel to Israel or abroad because of the lack of treatment inside Gaza.

According to Wafa, last month, the World Health Organization said out of 2,004 patient applications submitted in March for an Israeli permit to cross Erez crossing between Gaza and Israel for health care outside the besieged Gaza Strip, only 1,293 (65%) of the total were approved, and 74 patient applications were denied permission, including four children under the age of 18 years.

May 10, 2019: Abdullah Jom’a Abdul-‘Al, 24, was shot and killed by Israeli soldiers while participating in the non-violent Great Return March protests on the Gaza-Israel border.

The Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza has confirmed that the soldiers killed Abdullah, after shooting him in the pelvis, east of Rafah, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.

His death came when Israeli soldiers attacked, Friday, the weekly Great Return March processions on Palestinian lands along the eastern areas of the Gaza Strip, killing Abdullah and wounding 30, including four children, and one medic who was shot in the head while providing treatment to wounded Palestinians.

The medic, identified as Mohammad Abu T’eima, was shot as he, and several other medics, were providing treatment to wounded protesters, who were shot by the soldiers on Palestinian lands, east of Khan Younis, in the southern part of the coastal region.

Eyewitnesses said the soldiers engaged in the excessive use of force against the protesters by firing a barrage of live rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets and high-velocity gas bombs at them.

May 5, 2019: Abdul-Rahman Talal Atiyya Abu al-Jedian, 12, was killed by Israeli airstrikes targeting civilian areas in the Gaza Strip.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health has confirmed the deaths of 23 Palestinians, including a family – mother, father and 4-month old baby, killed by Israeli missile strikes on residential areas in Gaza.

Palestinian and Israeli media sources have reported that 23 Palestinians and 4 Israelis were killed since the Israeli offensive began on Saturday, as Israeli forces escalated their bombardment of the Gaza Strip, and Palestinian resistance groups fired more rockets into Israel.

Within the list of the Palestinians killed were two pregnant women (some media sources have added the two names of the fetuses to the casualty list).

The escalation of airstrikes occurred after Israeli Prime Minister Binjamin Netanyahu met with his cabinet and announced that he would increase his assault on the besieged coastal strip, where 2 million Palestinians live in the world’s largest open-air prison.

According to Haaretz, the army spokesperson said the military has struck 260 “targets” in several parts of the Gaza Strip. Ha’aretz also reported that Energy Minister Yuval Steinitz ordered a temporary halt of the pumping of natural gas from the Tamar field off the coast of Gaza – a gas field which Palestinians say should belong to them, but which Israel claimed several years ago and has been pumping for gas since then.

Authorities say they fear the gas rig being targeted by Palestinian resistance fighters.

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, Abdel Rahim Mustafa Taha Al-Madhoun and Hani Hamdan Abu Sha’ar, 37, were killed by Israeli missiles in the northern Gaza Strip.

Four civilians, including a pregnant woman and her two children, were killed in an overnight raid on the town of Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip. They were identified as: Abdullah Abdul Rahim Al Madhoun, 22, Fadi Ragheb Badran, 31, and Shahida Amani Al-Madhoun (33 years old), who was killed along with her unborn baby – she was nine months pregnant.

In addition to the three killed, eight others were reportedly injured in the Israeli airstrike, which targeted Al-Faraj Sheikh Zayed in Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip.

Two Palestinian civilians were reportedly killed in the shelling of Rafah. They were identified as Mousa Muammar, 24, and Ali Abdul Jawad, 51 years old. Three people were seriously injured in that same airstrike, which targeted a residential building in the city of Rafah.

The Israeli airforce reportedly targeted the home of the Director General of the Internal Security Forces in Gaza, Major General Tawfiq Abu Naim in Nosseirat central Gaza Strip.

Two apartments were destroyed in Tower No. 10 in the Sheikh Zayed Towers in the northern Gaza Strip.

The Health Ministry has reported that the army fired missiles into an apartment in Zayed Residential Towers, in northern Gaza, Sunday, killing Maria Ahmad Ramadan al-Ghazali, 4 months, along with her father Ahmad Ramadan al-Ghazali, 31, and her mother Iman Abdullah Usrof, 30.

The Ministry of Health also announced that two people were killed in a bombardment targeting agricultural land behind Ibrahim al-Maqadma Mosque in Al-Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip.

Two Palestinians were killed in that airstrike, they were identified as Mohammad Abdul Nabi Abu Armaneh, 30, and Mahmoud Samir Abu Armanah, 27.

Both were taken to the Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Hospital in Deir Al-Balah .

Israeli airstrikes destroyed the internal security building inside the governor’s palace west of Gaza City, following the destruction of another house belonging to the Mashtah family in central Gaza and a house belonging to the Abu Qamar family in al-Sina’a Street in Tel al-Hawa neighborhood in the west of Gaza City.

Earlier, Israeli planes carried out the first extrajudicial assassination in the current escalation by shelling a car belonging to Hamed al-Khudari, 34. He was targeted allegedly for transporting money from Iran to Gaza. Two other Palestinian fighters were killed in a separate airstrike around the same time.

Ma’an News reported that four Palestinians were wounded when Israeli artillery shelled the house of the Awad family in al-Fakhari area east of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip.

Two civilians were wounded by shrapnel targeting civilians east of Al-Shojaeya neighborhood in the east of Gaza.Israeli aircraft targeted a house in the Nosseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip and an iron workshop belonging to the Abu Zour family in the Zeitoun neighborhood south of Gaza City.

Israeli gunboats participated in shelling several points on the coast of the Gaza Strip and shelled a marine police post at the fishermen’s port in Gaza and in Beit Lahia and the fishermen’s port in Khan Younis.

May 5, 2019: Raghda Mohammad Abu al-Jedian, 40, was killed in the Israeli bombardment of residential areas in the Gaza Strip, along with her husband and 12-year old child.

The child’s death was reported on Sunday May 5th, but the bodies of the parents were not uncovered from under the rubble until Monday May 6th, so their deaths were not immediately reported.

The Palestinian Health Ministry confirmed that on Sunday May 5^th, Raghda, along with her husband and child, were buried under the rubble of their home, which was bombarded by the Israeli army.

The Ministry said the corpses of Talal ‘Atiya Abu Jedian, 46, who worked as a security guard at the al-Awda Hospital, and his wife Raghda Mohammad Abu al-Jedian, 40, were buried under the rubble of their bombarded apartment at a residential tower in Beit Lahia, in northern Gaza.

Their corpses were recovered the day after the bombing, and were transferred their corpses to the Indonesian Hospital, in northern Gaza Strip.

It is worth mentioning that their child, Abdul-Rahman Talal Abu Jedian, 12, was instantly killed after Israeli missiles struck Residential Tower 12 in Sheikh Zayed City, in northern Gaza.

Their deaths bring the number of slain Palestinians in less that three days of Israeli escalation to 29, including Saba Mahmoud Abu Arar, 14 months, and her pregnant mother, Falasteen Saleh Abu Arar, 37, in addition to Maria Ahmad al-Ghazali, 4 months, and her mother Eman Abdullah al-Ghazali, 30.
