March 19, 2019: Ahmad Jamal Mahmoud Manasra, 26, was executed by Israeli soldiers when he stepped out of his car and tried to provide aid to another Palestinian, who had been shot and seriously injured by the soldiers in his car, while his wife and children were also in the vehicle.
This shooting took place near Nashash military roadblock, at the southern entrance of the al-Khader, west of Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank.
Eyewitnesses stated that the slain young man, identified as Ahmad Jamal Mahmoud Manasra, 26, was driving behind another Palestinian car, when the soldiers shot and seriously injured the driver, who was with his wife and children.
The Palestinian later rushed to his car, to remove it from the street, but the soldiers, stationed at the Nashash military roadblock, fired many live rounds at him, causing a very serious injury that led to his death.
Bethlehem governor Kamel Hmeid, denounced the escalating Israeli crimes and violations, and said that the soldiers deliberately executed the young man, who was only trying to help a wounded man and his family.
He called on the international community to break its silence, and idleness, and hold Israel accountable for its seriously escalating crimes against the Palestinian people, and added this silence, and the protection Israel receives from the United States, are encouraging it to continue to crimes.
The Israeli army made a statement that the “Palestinian was killed in clashes in Bethlehem,” without any additional detail.
It is worth mentioning that Ahmad is the fourth Palestinian to be killed by the army in less than 24 hours, after the soldiers killed last night and at dawn, Omar Amin Abu Laila, 19, in Abwein village, near the central West Bank city of Ramallah, in addition to Ra’ed Hashem Hamdan, 21, and Zeid Emad Nouri, 20, who were killed by the soldiers in Nablus, in northern West Bank.
Earlier on Wednesday, the soldiers invaded the area surrounded the al-‘Arroub College, in the al-‘Arroub refugee camp, north of the southern West Bank city of Hebron, and fired a barrage of gas bombs, concussion grenades and live rounds at students nonviolently marching and protesting the killings committed by the army.
Medical sources reported that the soldiers caused many Palestinians to suffer the severe effects of teargas inhalation.
