June 16, 2017: Adel Hasan Ankoush, 18, was killed by Israeli soldiers and border police who opened fire upon him and two others after an Israeli border officer was stabbed in Sultan Suleiman Street, near Damascus Gate in Jerusalem. The Israeli border officer, Hadas Malka, was killed, and another was wounded. In addition to Ankoush, two other Palestinians were killed: Bara’ Ibrahim Saleh, 18, and Osama Ahmad Ata, 19, all from Deir Abu Mashal village, west of Ramallah, in central West Bank.
Following the incident, dozens of Israeli soldiers and officers were deployed in the area, closed all the gates leading to Jerusalem’s Old City, and assaulted many Palestinians, especially in the areas leading to the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The soldiers also assaulted many Palestinians, and clashed with local youths, wounding many with live fire and rubber-coated steel bullets.
One of the wounded Palestinians was shot with a live round in his spine, and another round in his kidney. He was picked up by an ambulance, and the soldiers chased the ambulance to the Al-Makassed Hospital in Jerusalem, where they tried to invade the hospital. But dozens of Palestinians clashed with them, and prevented them from entering the hospital.
In addition, dozens of soldiers surrounded and completely isolated Deir Abu Mashal village. Local sources said the soldiers imposed a strict siege on the village.
The soldiers warned that they would shoot and kill any Palestinian who seen walking outside at night, and that the siege would continue until further notice. The curfew came in the middle of the month of Ramadan, when Palestinian Muslims fast during the day, and eat and drink only at night.
According to an investigation by the Palestinian Center for Human Rights, at approximately 05:30 on Saturday, 17 June 2017, Israeli forces moved into the said village and imposed a curfew. 11:37PM

The Israeli soldiers accompanied by an engineering team raided the houses belonging to the families of the three attackers and surveyed them for future demolition. Before withdrawal, the Israeli forces handed notices to the owners of the homes where the now-deceased teens lived, saying that their homes will be demolished at an unspecified date, as part of the collective punishment against attackers’ families. June 9, 2017: Aa’ed Khamis Jom’a, 35, was killed by Israeli soldiers who fired live rounds and gas bombs at Palestinian protesters on Palestinian lands near the border fence east of Jabalia in the northern part of the Gaza Strip.
June 6, 2017: Fadi Ibrahim Najjar, 25, was killed by Israeli soldiers who shot him in the stomach while he and other Palestinians were protesting on their own land. The soldiers injured at least seven other Palestinians in the Gaza Strip that day.
June 2, 2017: Nawf Eqab Enfei’at, 16, died from serious wounds she suffered a day earlier after Israeli soldiers shot her. They claimed she attacked and stabbed one of them at a military roadblock near Mavo Dotan settlement, southwest of Jenin city, in the northern part of the West Bank.
May 25, 2017: Mohannad Abu Safaqa, 45, died from serious wounds he suffered two days earlier after reportedly stabbing and wounding an Israeli police officer.
May 22, 2017: Raed Ahmad Radayda, 15, was killed by Israeli soldiers at the “Container” military roadblock near Bethlehem, after he allegedly ran towards the soldiers while carrying a knife.
May 20, 2017: Fatima Jibril Taqatqa, 15, died from serious wounds she suffered on March 15, 2017, when an Israeli soldier shot her after she lost control of a car she was driving and struck a median at the Etzion settlement junction south of Bethlehem in the West Bank.
May 18, 2017: Mo’taz Hussein Bani Shamsa, 23, was killed by a live round fired by an Israeli settler in Huwwara Palestinian town, south of Nablus, in the northern part of the West Bank, during a procession in solidarity with Palestinian political prisoners holding hunger strike since April 17th.
May 15, 2017: Mohammad Majed Bakr, 25, was killed by Israeli navy fire after the navy opened fire on Palestinian fishing boats close to the Gaza shore, shooting him and abducting three other fishermen, and confiscating their boats.
