August 23, 2014: Hayat Abed-Rabbo Abu Dahrouj, 49, was killed by Israeli soldiers who fired a missile from a fighter jet at the house of Shehda Abed-Rabbo Abu Dahrouj, 68, in the Zawaida village, close to the Nusseirat refugee camp, in central Gaza.

Hayat was killed along with her brother, Hayel, 28, and his wife, Huda, 27, in addition to their sons, Abdullah, 3, and Abdel-Hadi, 18 months.

Omar Nasr Ziad ar-Reefy

August 21, 2014: Omar Nasr Ziad ar-Reefy, 4, was killed on August 21, 2014 when the Israeli army fired a missile at his family’s farmland, in the Tuffah neighborhood, in Gaza City.

The Israeli missile instantly killed the child’s father Nasr Ziad ar-Reefy, 35, in addition to his cousin Abdullah Tareq ar-Reefy, 7, and Abdullah’s brother Ziad, 13, along with their father, Mohammad Ziad Abed-Rabbo ar-Reefy, 28. Omar’s older brother Mohammad Nasr al-Reefy, 14, was seriously injured with injuries and shrapnel all over his body, including a piece in his spine, resulting in quadriplegia and various health complications. Mohammad eventually died of complications from his injuries on November 3rd, 2018.

The Al-Mezan Center for Human Rights reported at the time that, on Thursday morning August 21st, 2014, an Israeli war jet fired a missile toward farmland owned by ar-Reefy family, near the an-Nafaq Street, north of Gaza city, killing five members of the family, including three children, and wounding four, including two children, identified as Maram ar-Reefi, and Ziad Tareq ar-Reefy, 9, who later died from his wounds.

It said the soldiers killed Ahmad Tareq ar-Reefy, Mohammad Tareq ar-Reefy, 13, Abdullah Tareq ar-Reefy, 6, and Mohammad Ziad Abed-Rabbo ar-Reefy, 28, and injured dozens, many of them seriously.

A few hours later, the army fired a missile into Sheikh Radwan Graveyard, north of Gaza city, killing four graveyard workers and caretakers, identified as Abdul-Rahim Talal Shweikh, 22, Rami Hamdi Salem, 20, Mohammad Hamdi Salem, 18, and Awsam Talal Shweikh, 45, in addition to seriously wounding Salem Abu Ghaddayeen, 28.

The Al-Mezan Center for Human Rights said the soldiers killed at least 2218 Palestinians during the 51-day Israeli offensive on the coastal region, while dozens later died from their serious wounds. Around 84% of the slain Palestinians were civilians, including hundreds of children.

Al-Mezan stated that the Israeli bombardment and shelling of Palestinian homes, residential buildings and structures, resulted in wiping out entire families, while dozens of families lost multiple members. According to UN OCHA, 142 families lost 3 members or more in the Israeli attacks.

Mohammad Tal’at Zaki al-Ghul

August 21, 2014: Mohammad Tal’at Zaki al-Ghul, 30, a resident of Gaza city, was killed in Gaza city, by a missile fired from an Israeli aircraft.

He was the object of a targeted killing. Mohammad was a member of the military wing of Hamas.

He was killed while riding in his car near the Falastin stadium in a-Nisr neighborhood.

Mohammed Barhoum

August 21, 2014: Mohammed Hamdan Barhoum, 45, was killed by Israeli soldiers who fired nine missiles from their war jets targeting the home of Nasser Hussein Kullab, and nearby homes, in Canada area, in Tal al-Sultan, west of Rafah, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.

The three-story, 200 square/meter Kullab family home was inhabited by two families of fourteen members, and was destroyed by the Israeli missiles, while six nearby homes were severely damaged.

The Israeli strikes led to the death of twelve Palestinians in these targeted homes; three of them were leaders of Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas. Among the slain Palestinians were four children and three women.

Medical sources in Rafah said at least 54 Palestinians were injured in the attacks, including 22 children and 16 women. At least 30 Palestinians were killed that day alone in the Gaza Strip.

Mohammed was killed along with along with ‘Aiysha Ismail Attiya, 63, Ra’ed Subhi Al-Attar, 40, in addition to Nazera Ramadan Kullab, 41, her sons Ahmed, 17, Yousef, 15, and Abdullah, 11, Hasan Hussein Younis, 79, his wife Amal, 53, their granddaughter, Seba, 4, Ra’ed al-Attar, 40, Mohammad Barhoum, 45, and Abdel-Fattah Abu Sleimeh who died from his wounds on September 10, 2014.

Resident Abdel-Fattah Hussein Abu Sleimeh, 72, was mortally wounded and died from his wounds on September 10, 2014.

August 21, 2014: ‘Aiysha Ismail Attiya, 63, was killed by Israeli soldiers who fired nine missiles from their war jets targeting the home of Nasser Hussein Kullab, and nearby homes, in Canada area, in Tal al-Sultan, west of Rafah, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.

Seba Rami Younes

August 21, 2014: Seba Rami Younes, 4, was killed by Israeli soldiers who fired nine missiles from their war jets targeting the home of Nasser Hussein Kullab, and nearby homes, in Canada area, in Tal al-Sultan, west of Rafah, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.

Seba was killed along with her grandmother Amal Ibrahim Younis, 53, grandfather, Hasan Hussein Younis, 79, in addition to ‘Aiysha Imsail Attiyya, 63, Mohammad Abu Shamala, 40, Ra’ed al-Attar, 40, Mohammad Barhoum, 45, and Abdel-Fattah Abu Sleimeh who died from his wounds on September 10, 2014.

Also among the killed Palestinians was Nazera Kullab, 41, in addition to her sons Ahmed, 17, Yousef, 15, and Abdullah, 11.
