February 06, 2018: Khaled Waleed Tayeh, 22, was killed by Israeli soldiers who invaded Nablus city, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said Khaled was shot with a live round in the chest and died shortly after being rushed to the an-Najah Hospital in Nablus.

During the invasion, the soldiers fired dozens of live rounds at random, in addition to rubber-coated steel bullets, gas bombs and concussion grenades.

The Palestinian Red Crescent said the soldiers also injured 110 Palestinians, including 32 who were shot with live ammunition, 26 with rubber-coated steel bullets, and 51 who suffered the effects of teargas inhalation.

It added that the soldiers also rammed one Palestinian with their jeep, causing moderate wounds.

The head of the an-Najah National Hospitals, Salim al-Haj Yahia, said one of the wounded Palestinians, identified as Anwar Abu Aisha, was instantly rushed to surgery after an Israeli bullet severed the main artery in his thigh, and added that his condition is very serious.

The escalation started after dozens of soldiers invaded the Northern Mountain area, in Nablus, apparently looking for the Palestinian who killed an Israeli settler, identified as Itamar Ben Gal, 29, Monday.

Undercover forces surrounded two homes but were unable to locate and arrest the man they were reportedly looking for, and instead abducted seven Palestinians, not involved in the fatal stabbing.

The Israeli army said it was unable to arrest the “suspected stabber,” and claimed that the soldiers were “attacked by more than 500 young Palestinian men, who hurled stones and Molotov cocktails at them.”

Ahmad Nasr Jarrar

February 06, 2018: Ahmad Nasr Jarrar, 22, was killed by Israeli forces who invaded the village of al-Yamoun, near Jenin in northern West Bank, and surrounded a house where he was staying.

Although Jarrar was suspected by the Israeli authorities of the murder of an Israeli settler, identified as Rabbi Raziel Shevach, who was killed in a drive-by shooting, the Israeli military extra-judicially assassinated him, without filing charges or arresting him for the crime.

The soldiers, including a canine unit, were heavily deployed in the area, and conducted searches of many homes, in addition to using the rooftops of several buildings as monitoring towers and firing posts.

They also demolished a wall and a shed, and uprooted many olive trees, as they set up a perimeter around the Ahmad’s location.

The military operation was reportedly carried out by regular army units and undercover officers, who were given “shoot-to-kill” orders.

Israeli media outlets said the soldiers located a large cache of bullets and alleged that Jarrar had been planning a serious attack.

Local Palestinian media sources reported that Jarrar exchanged fire with the soldiers, and that the soldiers destroyed the home where he was hiding.

Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman congratulated the army for what he called “a successful operation,” that resulted in Jarrar’s death.

Following the military invasion and the death of the Palestinian, dozens of local youngsters hurled stones at the soldiers, who fired many live rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets and gas bombs.

It is worth mentioning that, on January 18th, the soldiers killed Ahmad Nasr’s cousin, identified as Ahmad Ismael Jarrar, 31, in Wadi Burqin town, after they mistook him for his cousin.

In addition to killing Ahmad Ismael Jarrar, the soldiers demolished Ahmad’s home, and two other homes.

On February 3rd, the soldiers killed Ahmad Samir Abu ‘Obeid, 19, with a live round in the head, during a massive military invasion into Burqin, also searching for Ahmad Nasr Jarrar.

February 03, 2018: Ahmad Samir Abu ‘Obeid, 19, was killed by Israeli soldiers with a live round in the head, during a massive military invasion into Burqin town, west of Jenin, in the northern part of the West Bank.

The Palestinian Health Ministry has confirmed that the soldiers shot Ahmad with a live round in his head, causing a very serious injury, before medics rushed him to Jenin Governmental Hospital, where he died from his wounds.

The Ministry added that the soldiers also shot two other young Palestinian men with live rounds in their legs, and six with rubber-coated steel bullets, in addition to causing dozens to suffer the severe effects of teargas inhalation, after the army attacked locals, who protested the invasion.

The army also arrested four young Palestinian men, and demolished a room and a barn, in addition to causing damage to several structures and cars, before withdrawing from the town.

The invasion was carried out by twenty-two armored military vehicles, and two bulldozers, before the soldiers broke into and searched many homes, and used K9 units in searching the properties, causing anxiety attacks among many Palestinians, especially children.

After the army withdrew from the town, hundreds of Palestinians marched in Ahmad’s funeral procession, while chanting against the ongoing Israeli military occupation.

The Israeli invasion into several areas in the Jenin Governorate started when the soldiers invaded Kafeer village, south of the Jenin city, after surrounding it and declaring it a closed military zone.

The soldiers conducted extensive military searches of homes and detained two siblings, identified as Thieb Walid Ershaid, 43, and his brother Qa’qaa, 42, after surrounding their homes.

The shooting death of Abu Obeid came during the invasion of Wadi Burqin by the Israeli military early Saturday morning to besiege the home where the army believed that the wanted man Ahmad Nasr Jarrar, was hiding.

Ahmad Nasr Jarrar was wanted by the Israeli military for allegedly killing an Israeli settler on January 8th.

Following that killing, the Israeli military invaded many nearby villages and conducted house-to-house searches.

January 30, 2018: Laith Haitham Abu Na’im, 16, was killed by Israeli soldiers who invaded the al-Mughayyir village, northeast of the central West Bank city of Ramallah.

Medical sources at Ramallah Governmental Hospital said the child was shot with a live round in the head from a close range, causing a serious injury, before he was rushed to a local hospital where he died from his wounds a few hours later.

The child was shot after dozens of soldiers invaded the village, and attacked Palestinian protesters with gas bombs, rubber-coated bullets, concussion grenades and live rounds.

The Israeli army claimed that approximately 30 Palestinians hurled stones and burnt tires when the soldiers “entered” the town, and alleged that the soldiers “did not use live ammunition in dispersing the protesters.”

The army added that it was “launching an investigation into the circumstances which lead to the child’s death,” and alleged that “some protesters hurled Molotov cocktails at the soldiers.”

Ahmad Ismail Jarrar

January 17th, 2018: Ahmad Ismail Mohammad Jarrar, 31, was killed by Israeli soldiers at dawn while at his cousin’s home in Wad Burqin area, west of Jenin.

The deceased was originally thought to be Ahmad Nassar Jarrar, 22, who Israeli authorities say is a suspect in the December 9th shooting of an Israeli settler.

The 31-year-old Ahmad Ismail Jarrar was described by family members as a laborer who was not involved in politics.

Israeli soldiers arrived at the Jarrar home at dawn and ordered all occupants out into the cold.

Israeli forces then fired rockets into the building and then, using bulldozers, completely demolished three homes belonging to Jarrar family members and severely damaging a fourth.

After detonating and demolishing the home, the soldiers continued to fire live rounds, while sounds of further explosions could be heard, but the soldiers refused to allow ambulances and firefighters to enter the area.

According to PCHR’s investigation and eyewitnesses’ statements, at approximately 22:40 on Wednesday, 17 January 2018, heliborne Yamam Unit forces, which is part of the “Musta’ribin” special units dressing like Palestinian civilians, landed in the vicinity of Qabatiyah village and Muthalath al-Shuhada’a, south of Jenin.

The Unit officers sneaked into the targeted area, south of the city, overlooking Jenin refugee camp and Burqin Valley. At approximately 23:10, another force sneaked into Jaffa Petrol Station on Jaffa Street near al-Dakhliyah Intersection, west of the city.

The special unit officers in 2 civilian cars carrying Palestinian registration plates raided the petrol station, from which they arrested two workers namely Ahmed Jamil Ahmed al-Qamba’a (28) and Salah Eden Sobhi Abdullah Jaradat (26) and confiscated the DVR of the surveillance cameras.

The special unit officers then headed to Burqin Valley and stationed in the vicinity of houses belonging to Jarrar family. When armed Palestinians noticed the special unit officers, clashes erupted.

At approximately 00:50 on Thursday, 18 January 2018, Israeli military backups accompanied with 2 military bulldozers arrived. They surrounded a house belonging to Nasser Khalid Ibrahim Jarrar and then fired 4 shells from the rocket-propelled grenade at the house.

The Israeli forces said that they targeted Nasser’s son Ahmed and killed him. They then arrested 2 civilians alleged to be members of the cell accused of killing the Israeli settler.

The invasion and the killing of the Palestinian man led to massive protests, before the soldiers fired dozens of live rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets and gas bombs, causing several injuries, including at least one, who was shot with live fire.

The soldiers also invaded and ransacked several stores, and confiscated surveillance recordings, in Jenin city.

At least thirty vehicles participated in the invasion into Jenin and Jenin refugee camp, after the soldiers surrounded, and isolated, many areas.

Ahmad Abdul-Jaber Salim

January 15, 2018: Ahmad Abdul-Jaber Salim, 28, from Jayyous town, was shot by Israeli soldiers with a live round to his head, and died from his serious wounds at Darwish Nazzal hospital, in Qalqilia, in the northern West Bank.

Eyewitnesses said Israeli soldiers fired many live rounds at Palestinian protesters, wounding Ahmad in the head, and then fired gas bombs at the Palestinian ambulances and medics that arrived on the scene.

Ahmad was transferred to Darwish Nazzal hospital and was pronounced dead shortly afterward.

It is worth mentioning that Ahmad was a former political prisoner, who was held by Israel for three years before he was released in 2016, and was a student of the Al-Quds Open University in Qalqilia.

He was the secretary of the “Student Unity Block,” of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP).

Following his death, the soldiers completely closed the main road, and installed many roadblocks in the area.

Many youngsters also hurled stones at Israeli army vehicles and settlers’ cars, while hundreds of Palestinians marched to the hospital protesting his death.

Amir Abu Mosa’ed

January 11, 2018: Amir Abdul-Hamid Abu Mosa’ed, 16, was killed by Israeli soldiers who fired live rounds at Palestinian protesters, east of the al-Boreij refugee camp, in central Gaza.

Palestinian medical sources said the soldiers shot Amir with a live round in his chest, and added that the soldiers also shot three other Palestinians also with live fire, including one who suffered a life-threatening injury.

Media sources in Gaza said dozens of Palestinians marched on their lands, close to the border fence in central Gaza, before the soldiers fired many live rounds, in addition to gas bombs and rubber-coated steel bullets at them.

Many Palestinians suffered the effects of teargas inhalation, and received the needed medical treatment.

On the same day, the soldiers killed a child, identified as Ali Omar Nimir Qeino, 17, after the army fired live rounds at Palestinians who intercepted an attack carried out by colonialist settlers into Iraq-Burin village, south of the northern West Bank city of Nablus.

January 11, 2018: Ali Omar Nimir Qeino, 16, was killed by an Israeli soldier after the army fired live rounds at Palestinians who intercepted an attack carried out by Israeli colonialist settlers into Iraq-Burin village, south of the northern West Bank city of Nablus.

Media sources in Nablus said many armed Israeli colonialist settlers infiltrated into the village and attacked several Palestinians, before locals intercepted them and forced them out.

Israeli soldiers then invaded the village and fired dozens of live rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets, concussion grenades and gas bombs at the Palestinians.

Ali was shot with a live round in the head, before he was rushed to Nablus Specialized Hospital, where he died from his serious head injury. Locals said Qeino was shot by an Israeli army sharp-shooter.

On the same day, the soldiers killed a child, identified as Amir Abdul-Hamid Abu Mosa’ed, 16, with a live round in his chest, and injured three others, east of the al-Boreij refugee camp, in central Gaza.

Raziel Shevach

January 9, 2018: Raziel Shevach, 35, an Israeli settler, was shot and killed Tuesday while driving near a colonial outpost, near Nablus, in the northern part of the West Bank.

The Israeli daily Haaretz reported that Dr. Guy Elad, a doctor at the Meir Medical Center, told their reporter that the victim “arrived at the hospital without a pulse, with no breath and no life signals.

“He was rushed to the trauma room, where advanced resuscitation actions were performed and unfortunately despite our efforts his death was determined.”

The gunman or gunmen who fired the fatal shots fled the scene, and Israeli forces have locked down all nearby Palestinian villages and towns, preventing Palestinian civilians from going anywhere outside their homes.

The soldiers are also conducting house-to-house searches in the town of Jit, which is the town whose land was illegally annexed by Israel, to construct the Israeli settler-only road, and the colonialist outpost of Havat Gilad.

In addition, the Israeli military has closed the entrances to the city of Nablus, and are preventing all entry and exit from the city. The closure wreaked havoc on the evening commute for students and workers, many of whom were forced to remain in their workplaces or schools overnight after being prevented from returning home.

Shevach, who lived in Havat Gilad, was driving on Route 60, which is a major Israeli highway constructed on Palestinian land in the West Bank, when he was shot at by a passing vehicle. Palestinians are forbidden from driving on Route 60 without first obtaining hard-to-get Israeli permits.

Even with permits, Palestinian drivers are frequently subjected to stops and seizures of their vehicles and licenses by Israeli police and soldiers when they drive on Route 60 and other colonial Israeli byways.

Abu Obeida, the spokesperson of the Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, said the “Nablus shooting is the first retaliation with live fire, and comes to remind the enemy, and those who support it, that what is coming is much bigger – what you fear is yet to come, the West Bank will remain a dagger in your abdomen.”

Following the fatal shooting, the Israeli army imposed a strict siege on all villages and towns in the Nablus governorate, and invaded many villages, including Sorra, Iraq-Burin, and all southern areas, including New Nablus, al-Makhfiyya, before initiating extensive searches and confiscated surveillance tapes and equipment.

The army deployed a large number of soldiers in Nablus, in addition to calling for more military units to operate in the governorate, in preparation for a massive invasion and military operations.

Israeli media outlets said that the military received orders for carrying out a large-scale military operation, inside many villages and towns, in Nablus.

Meanwhile, dozens of colonist settlers closed Yitzhar road, while dozens more gathers at the Huwwara military roadblock, south of Nablus, before throwing rocks at dozens of Palestinian cars.

Palestinian medical sources said a young man from ‘Awarta village, suffered various cuts and bruises after being attacked by Israeli settlers.

It is worth mentioning that the Israeli army have killed 32 Palestinians, including two children, since early October 2017. Shevach is the first Israeli casualty since then.

Rami Issa Ismael

January 05, 2018: Rami Issa Khalil Ismael, 38, was killed by an Israeli settler bus driver who ran him over.

Rami died after being rammed by the speeding Israeli colony’s bus, near Bethlehem, in the West Bank, before the soldiers took his body, and returned it to his family five hours later.

The family, from Ertas village, south of Bethlehem, said that the bus driver deliberately rammed their son on Road #60, near the al-Khader town, also south of Bethlehem.

The man was mainly struck in the head, causing many fractures, including to his skull, and splattering his brain onto the road.

An Eyewitness said that he, and other Palestinians, including Rami, were crossing the road when the settlement bus was still at a distance, but then the driver sped towards them, ramming Rami, and killing him.

“We were crossing the road, but when the bus driver saw us, he just sped towards us, and struck Rami, instantly killing him.”

His family said that the soldiers took his corpse, and returned it to them five hours later, before it was moved to Beit Jala governmental hospital.

He is just the latest of a number of Palestinians killed on this road by Israeli settler vehicles, while going from their community to their farmlands, or heading back home.

The Israeli drivers frequently speed up when they see Palestinians on or near the road, often aiming towards them to try to run them down.
