Zeid Emad Nouri

March 20, 2019:  Zeid Emad Nouri, 20, was killed by Israeli forces who shot him, along with Ra’ed Hashem Hamdan, 21, while in their vehicle near Joseph’s Tomb, in Nablus city, northern occupied West Bank. After the soldiers shot the two men, an Israeli army bulldozer proceeded to climb over and crush the vehicle they were in.

The two men, identified as Ra’ed Hashem Hamdan, 21, and Zeid Emad Nouri, 20, were left without treatment as paramedics were blocked by Israeli forces from approaching them.

Local medical sources confirmed that soldiers killed the two youth in cold blood, and walked over their vehicle while they were inside it.

Palestinians announced a general strike in Nablus, following the shooting.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said its medics rushed to the scene, but the soldiers stopped them, and refused to allow them to reach the two Palestinians, before the army moved their corpses to Huwwara military base, south of Nablus.

The PRCS added that the soldiers also opened fire at dozens of Palestinians, protesting the death of the two young men, and shot at least 12 with rubber-coated steel bullets, one with shrapnel, in addition to at least fifteen who suffered the effects of teargas inhalation. It added that the soldiers handed the bodies of the two Palestinians to its medics, on Wednesday morning.

It is worth mentioning that the soldiers invaded and ransacked many homes and occupied rooftops to use them as firing posts and military towers. The Israeli army claimed that a Molotov cocktail was reportedly hurled at the soldiers from a speeding car near Joseph’s Tomb area, in Nablus, before the soldiers opened fire, killing the two Palestinians.

In related news, the soldiers killed, on Tuesday at night, a young Palestinian man, identified as Omar Abu Laila, 19, who is suspected of killing two Israeli, last Sunday; the Palestinian was killed after the soldiers surrounded a home, and exchanged fire with him in Abwein village, near the central West Bank city of Ramallah.

Ahmad Jamal Manasra

Ahmad Jamal ManasraMarch 19, 2019: Ahmad Jamal Mahmoud Manasra, 26, was executed by Israeli soldiers when he stepped out of his car and tried to provide aid to another Palestinian, who had been shot and seriously injured by the soldiers in his car, while his wife and children were also in the vehicle.

This shooting took place near Nashash military roadblock, at the southern entrance of the al-Khader, west of Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank.

Eyewitnesses stated that the slain young man, identified as Ahmad Jamal Mahmoud Manasra, 26, was driving behind another Palestinian car, when the soldiers shot and seriously injured the driver, who was with his wife and children.

The Palestinian later rushed to his car, to remove it from the street, but the soldiers, stationed at the Nashash military roadblock, fired many live rounds at him, causing a very serious injury that led to his death.

Bethlehem governor Kamel Hmeid, denounced the escalating Israeli crimes and violations, and said that the soldiers deliberately executed the young man, who was only trying to help a wounded man and his family.

He called on the international community to break its silence, and idleness, and hold Israel accountable for its seriously escalating crimes against the Palestinian people, and added this silence, and the protection Israel receives from the United States, are encouraging it to continue to crimes.

The Israeli army made a statement that the “Palestinian was killed in clashes in Bethlehem,” without any additional detail.

It is worth mentioning that Ahmad is the fourth Palestinian to be killed by the army in less than 24 hours, after the soldiers killed last night and at dawn, Omar Amin Abu Laila, 19, in  Abwein village, near the central West Bank city of Ramallah, in addition to Ra’ed Hashem Hamdan, 21, and Zeid  Emad Nouri, 20, who were killed by the soldiers in Nablus, in northern West Bank.

Earlier on Wednesday, the soldiers invaded the area surrounded the al-‘Arroub College, in the al-‘Arroub refugee camp, north of the  southern West Bank city of Hebron, and fired a barrage of gas bombs, concussion grenades and live rounds at  students nonviolently marching and protesting the killings committed by the army.

Omar Abu Laila

Omar Abu LailaMarch 19, 2019: Omar Abu Laila, 19, was killed by Israeli soldiers on Tuesday at night after the soldiers surrounded a home, and exchanged fire with him in Abwein village, near the central West Bank city of Ramallah.

Omar was suspected of killing two Israelis on Sunday, two days prior.

The Israeli army said that “it received information about the location of the Palestinian” suspected of the attack, and identified him as Omar Abu Laila, 19, before the soldiers surrounded the property and exchanged fire with him, reportedly after he refused to surrender.

Israeli daily Haaretz has reported that Abu Laila is suspected of killing Rabbi Ahiad Ettinger and Staff Sgt. Gal Keidan, after he reportedly stabbed them on March 17, 2019.

After the incident, the Israeli army invaded his home, and many homes of his relatives, conducted very violent searches, and took measurements of his home to demolish it at a later stage, in an act of collective punishment against his family.

The killing of Abu Laila led to massive protests, and the soldiers fired dozens of live rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets, gas bombs and concussion grenades.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said its medics provided treatment to at least nine Palestinians at the protest, including two who were shot with live fire, in addition to many others who suffered the effects of teargas inhalation.

It is worth mentioning that Abu Laila left a handwritten message to his family asking them to forgive him, and not be sad about his death.

He also wrote names of a few Palestinians who loaned him some money, amounting in total to only about 50 Israeli shekels ($10 US), and asked his family to repay his debt.

It is worth mentioning that the Palestinian was not known to be involved in politics, or a member of any armed resistance group.

Since 1967, when Israel occupied the West Bank and Jerusalem, more than 600,000 Israeli settlers have come to live in the illegal settlements built there.

The international community considers the establishment of Israeli settlements in the occupied territories to be illegal under international law, in violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949, which states: “The Occupying Power shall not deport or transfer parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies.”

Israeli settlers, under the protection of heavily armed forces, routinely attack Palestinians in the territories, especially in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, demolishing their homes and vandalizing their properties.

On March 26th, 2019, the Israeli military issued a military order to Omar’s parents informing them that their home will be demolished, and that they have until March 31st to appeal the decision.

His mother said that dozens of soldiers surrounded the property before invading it, and conducted a violent search, in addition to tearing his posters and pictures, before handing them the military order.

Lt. Gal Keidan

March 17, 2019: Lt. Gal Keidan, 19, was killed and two Israelis were wounded at an entrance to Ariel, the largest Israeli settlement in the West Bank. The attack was allegedly carried out by a Palestinian who fled the scene.

The location of the attack is just north of Salfit village, where, four days earlier, invading Israeli forces killed 23-year old Mohammad Jamil Shahin and wounded 40 other Palestinians.

According to Israeli media sources, an unknown Palestinian allegedly arrived at the Ariel Junction checkpoint and stabbed an Israeli soldier, killing him. The assailant then allegedly picked up the soldier’s gun and shot another soldier at the checkpoint.

Israeli sources state that the Palestinian assailant then began firing at Israeli vehicles driving by on the Israeli-only road in front of the settlement.

The assailant then allegedly stole a car of an Israeli settler and drove off carrying the soldier’s gun, arriving a couple minutes later to the Gitai Junction checkpoint.

He then allegedly abandoned the car and fled on foot toward the nearby Palestinian village of Burkin.

One of the two wounded Israelis is in critical condition at Beilinson Hospital in Petach Tikvah, where both wounded Israelis were taken.

The two wounded Israelis have not been identified, but Israeli medical sources have said that one is a 20-year old male, and the other is a 35-year old male.

Following the attack, Israeli forces immediately sealed the area and launched a massive invasion of Burkin, Salfit and other area villages, preventing thousands of Palestinians from leaving their homes, go to work, or conduct their daily lives as the military invasion is in progress.

According to the Yeshiva World newspaper, the Israeli military is using a protocol they call “Pressure Cooker”, which involves Israeli army “payloaders, large armored vehicles, elite forces, the Oketz K9 unit, drones, and a chopper hovering overhead”. The protocol also authorizes the demolition of a building on the assailant, if the Israeli army decides that he is inside.

The Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu stated that he was sure that the Israeli military would find those responsible for the attack and “bring them to justice as we have in all previous cases.”

This marks the second Israeli to be killed by a Palestinian in 2019. During that same time period, 26 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli soldiers, including 8 children.

Media sources said army informed the Palestinian District Coordination Office that the young man, Salama Salah Ka’abna, 22, was shot dead while bypassing a vehicle which was stopped for inspection by the soldiers.

According to Israeli sources, the soldiers were in the process of inspecting a Palestinian vehicle at the roadblock when another speeding vehicle “drove behind [that car] and rushed towards soldiers who ordered him the driver to stop.”

The army claims that the Palestinian driver did not heed the soldiers’ orders to stop, and they opened fire at him in his car, seriously wounding him. He died from his wounds shortly afterwards.

In addition, the army said two other Palestinians were in the car, but managed to escape. The army spokesperson added that an inspection of the car showed that it was stolen.

The military claims the three were in a car that deliberately tried to ram a group of Israeli soldiers who had invaded the village of Kafr Ni’ma village, west of the central West Bank city of Ramallah.

Eyewitnesses reported that the vehicle slid due to the wet road, and the driver lost control of it before it struck the army jeep.

It added that the soldiers stopped to the side of the road, close to the exit of the village, when the car reportedly rammed them.

The army also stated that its “investigation concluded that the incident was a deliberate attack, and not an accident.”

The army said the soldiers had to stop on the side of the road due to a mechanical error with their jeep, before the Palestinian car rammed into them.

Palestinian sources said that the incident was a traffic accident, and not a ramming attack as the military claims, as the driver and his passengers could not see the soldiers before hitting them with the car.

The Palestinians car slid due to the wet road, before it struck the army jeep, they added.

Khaldoun ad-Deek, the head of Kafr Ni’ma Village Council, said the accident happened in an area of a difficult terrain with  rough and curvy roads.
