February 3, 2019: Ahmad Ghazi Abu Jabal, 30, succumbed to critical wounds he sustained last week when Israeli forces attacked the “Great Return March” protests along Gaza’s borders

Ahmad died of critical wounds he sustained last week, after being shot by Israeli forces offshore the town of Beit Lahia, north of Gaza.

He  was shot and seriously injured, on January 29 2019,  during a naval procession along Beit Lahia Sea and shore, in northern Gaza.

The soldiers who shot him with live fire were stationed at the Zikim military base, near Gaza’s northern border.

The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) issued a statement mourning his death, and declaring that he was one of its members.

January 14, 2019: Abdul-Rauf Ismael Salha, 14, died of serious wounds he suffered on Friday January 11th, 2019 when Israeli soldiers shot him with live fire at a Great Return March protest in northern Gaza.

The Palestinian Health Ministry reported that Abdul-Rauf was shot with a live round in the head during the Great Return March procession, east of Jabalia, in the northern part of the besieged and impoverished Gaza Strip.

The Ministry added that the child was first rushed to the Indonesian Hospital, in Beit Lahia, and was later moved to the Shifa Medical Center, in Gaza City, due to the seriousness of his wounds.

On the day of his serious injury, the soldiers killed a Palestinian woman, identified as Amal Mustafa at-Taramisi, 43, also with a live round in the head.

On Sunday, January 13, 2019, a Palestinian man, identified as Anwar Mohammad Qdeih, 33, died of serious  wounds sustained three weeks earlier, when he was shot in the neck by Israeli sharpshooters while participating in the Great Return March in Gaza.

It is worth mentioning that the army has killed a least 257 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, including journalists, medics, children and women, since the Great Return March procession started on Palestinian Day, March 30th, 2018.

The Israeli army killed Palestinian Photojournalist Yasser Mortaja, and journalist Ahmad Abu Hussein, in the Gaza Strip, in addition to wounding dozens of journalists, in 2018.

The soldiers also killed three medics, identified as Razan Najjar, 22, Mousa Jaber Abu Hassanein, 36, and Abdullah al-Qutati, 20, in the Gaza Strip, in 2018.

January 13, 2019: Anwar Mohammad Qdeih, 33, died of wounds sustained three weeks earlier, when he was shot in the neck by Israeli sharpshooters while participating in the Great Return March in Gaza.

The Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza reported Sunday, that Anwar died from his wounds in a hospital in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, after having been shot and seriously injured by Israeli army fire, three weeks ago.

Dr. Ashraf al-Qedra, the spokesperson of the Health Ministry in Gaza, said an Israeli army sharpshooter shot Anwar with a live bullet in his neck, near the perimeter fence, east of Khan Younis, in southern Gaza.

The man underwent several surgeries following his serious injury, on Friday, October 19th 2018, but remained in a critical condition at a Gaza European Hospital, until he succumbed to his serious wounds.

On Friday, an Israeli army sharpshooter shot and killed a Palestinian woman, identified as Amal Taramisi, 43, during the Great Return March procession, east of Gaza city.

January 11, 2019: Amal Mustafa at-Taramisi, 43, was shot in the head and killed by Israeli forces while participating in the Great Return March protest in Gaza.

The Palestinian Health Ministry said the slain Palestinian woman was shot in her head, and died from her serious wounds shortly after she was injured.

At least 25 Palestinians were injured in several areas of the Gaza Strip, including at least one who remains in a critical condition.

Updated From – Jan 11, 2019 @ 16:46: Israeli soldiers killed, Friday, one woman, injured 25 Palestinians, including one medic and a journalist, and caused dozens to suffer the effects of teargas inhalation, after the army resorted to the excessive use of force against the protesters, participating in the Great Return March procession in the Gaza Strip.

The attacks against the nonviolent protesters mainly took place near the perimeter fence, east of Gaza city, the al-Boreij refugee camp in central Gaza, in addition to Khan Younis and Rafah, in the southern part, and Jabalia in northern Gaza.

The soldiers, stationed in fortified towers and posts across the perimeter fence, fired many live rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets, high-velocity gas bombs and concussion grenades.

The Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza said the soldiers shot and killed one woman, east of Gaza city, injured three others before they were moved to the Shifa Medical center, and caused dozens to suffer the effects of teargas inhalation.

Dr. Ashraf al-Qedra, the spokesperson of the Health Ministry in Gaza said the slain woman is yet to be officially identified.

He added that the soldiers also shot two Palestinians with live fire, east of Jabalia, suffering moderate wounds, before they were rushed to the Indonesian Hospital in nearby Beit Lahia.

Dr. al-Qedra also stated that the soldiers also fired a high-velocity gas bomb at a Red Crescent ambulance, east of Gaza, wounding several Palestinians, including a medic, identified as Emad Sinwar, with a gas bomb that struck his neck, in addition to one journalist.

One Palestinian was shot with live fire, and many others suffered the effects of teargas inhalation, east of Khan Younis, in southern Gaza.

Karam Mohammad Fayyad

December 28, 2018: Karam Mohammad No’man Fayyad, 26, a disabled Palestinian man, was shot in the head and killed by Israeli forces at the Great March of Return east of Khan Younis in Gaza. In addition to Karam, Israeli soldiers shot and injured at least eight other protesters with live ammunition, including a medic and a photojournalist, during the Great March Of Return processions in the besieged Gaza Strip. The Health Ministry said two of the wounded suffered life-threatening injuries.

Dr. Ashraf al-Qedra, the spokesperson of the Health Ministry in Gaza, said the soldiers fired dozens of live rounds, high-velocity gas bombs and concussion grenades at the marchers, killing Karam, and wounding eight others.

Among the eight Palestinians shot with live ammunition were a child who was shot in the neck, a journalist and a female medic. They were all shot along the perimeter fence areas, in the eastern parts of the Gaza Strip, as the Great Return March processions continued for the fortieth consecutive week.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said the soldiers fired a barrage of live rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets, in addition to high-velocity gas bombs and concussion grenades, especially east of Gaza city, al-Boreij refugee camp, Khan Younis and Rafah.

It is worth mentioning that, since the Great Return March procession started in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army has killed at least 190 Palestinians, and injured more than 25,000 others.

No Israeli soldiers have been killed by Palestinian demonstrators participating in the ‘Great March of Return’ that has taken place each Friday since March 30th, 2018.

According to the United Nations Office for the Coordinator of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), a total of 295 Palestinians were killed and over 29,000 were injured in 2018 by Israeli forces.

This is the highest death toll in a single year since the Gaza conflict of 2014 and the highest number of injuries recorded since OCHA began documenting casualties in the Occupied Palestinian Territories in 2005.

About 61 per cent of the fatalities (180 people) and 79 per cent of the injuries (over 23,000) were in the context of Gaza’s ‘Great March of Return’ demonstrations by the fence. Across the Occupied Palestinian Territories, 57 of the Palestinian fatalities and about 7,000 of the injuries were under 18 years of age. 28 of the 295 Palestinians killed by Israeli forces in 2018 were members of armed groups in Gaza and another 15 were perpetrators or alleged perpetrators of attacks against Israelis in the West Bank. The other 252 were civilians.

A total of 14 Israelis were killed during the year by Palestinians and at least 137 others were injured. While the number of fatalities is nearly the same as in 2017 (15 people), the proportion of civilians among these fatalities (50 per cent) increased compared to the previous year (27 per cent).

December 22, 2018: Ayman Monir Mohammad Shbair, 18, died from serious wounds he suffered a day earlier, after Israeli soldiers shot him in the abdomen during the Great Return March procession, east of the al-Boreij refugee camp, in central Gaza.

The Palestinian Health Ministry in the Gaza Strip said Ayman received the urgently needed treatment by field medics, and was rushed to a local hospital in a very serious condition.

He underwent a surgery and remained in the intensive care unit until he succumbed to his wounds, Saturday.

On the day of his serious injury, the soldiers killed three Palestinians, including one child and a man with a mobility impairment, and injured 115 others, including four medics and two journalists.

The Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR) said the soldiers also injured 115 civilians, including 21children, 2 women, 2 Journalists and 3 Paramedics.

The slain Palestinians have been identified as Maher Atiya Yassin, 40, Abdul-Aziz Ibrahim Abu Sharia, 28, and Mohammad Mo’in al-Jahjouh, 16.

December 11, 2018: Ahmad Yasser Sabri Abu ‘Aabed, 4, died from serious wounds he suffered when Israeli soldiers shot him in the eye with an expanding bullet, on Friday, December 7, 2018, east of Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip. The Palestinian Health Ministry said the soldiers shot the child with expanding bullets, one in his eye, and one in his abdomen, causing very serious wounds. Ahmad was rushed to a hospital in Khan Younis, underwent a surgery, and remained in a critical condition at the Intensive Care Unit, until he succumbed to his wounds.

According to a report by Defense for Children International, Ahmad was in his father’s arms around 3:30 p.m. when he was struck by shrapnel as Israeli forces opened fire on protesters in Khan Younis, Gaza Strip, on December 7. Ahmad sustained injuries to his head, chest and abdomen which caused his death.

“Suddenly, I heard the sound of a gunshot fired by one of the soldiers and I heard the sound of something exploding in front of me,” said the child’s father. “At this moment, Ahmad screamed. I looked at Ahmad and found blood coming down from his right eye and chest and his shirt was torn.”

Ahmad was treated at the European hospital in Khan Younis, according to the child’s family. An MRI revealed that shrapnel had entered Ahmad’s brain through his eye. He was held in the intensive care unit until Tuesday, when doctors pronounced him dead.

On Monday, the soldiers shot eleven Palestinians, including one medic, during the 19th weekly 19th protest against the Israeli naval blockade on the coastal Strip.

On the day of Ahmad’s serious injury, Friday December 7, 2018, the 37th Friday of the Great March of Return and Breaking the Siege on Gaza, the soldiers shot 72 Palestinian civilians, including 11 children and 2 paramedics.

Eyad Yousef Suleiman

November 28, 2018: Eyad Yousef Suleiman, 25, died from serious wounds he suffered during the Israeli war on Gaza, in the summer of 2014.

The Ministry of Health said the young man, Eyad Yousef Suleiman, 25, was injured during the extensive Israeli bombardment and shelling, and died from serious complications.

On November 3. 2018, a Palestinian child, identified as Mohammad Nasr al-Reefy, 14, died from serious wounds he suffered on August 21, 2014.

Medical sources said the child suffered injuries and shrapnel all over his body, including a piece in his spine, resulting in quadriplegia and various health complications.

The Israeli missile instantly killed the child’s brother Omar Nasr Ziad ar-Reefy, 4, and their father Nasr Ziad ar-Reefy, 35, in addition to his cousin, Abdullah Tareq ar-Reefy, 7, and Abdullah’s brother Ziad, 13, along with their father, Mohammad Ziad Abed-Rabbo ar-Reefy, 28.

The Al-Mezan Center for Human Rights said the soldiers killed at least 2218 Palestinians during the 51-day Israeli offensive on the coastal region, while dozens later died from their serious wounds.

Around 84% of the slain Palestinians were civilians, including hundreds of children.

Al-Mezan stated that the Israeli bombardment and shelling of Palestinian homes, residential buildings and structures, resulted in wiping out entire families, while dozens of families lost multiple members. According to UN OCHA, 142 families lost 3 members or more in the Israeli attacks.

Nawwaf Ahmad al-Attar

November 14, 2018: Nawwaf Ahmad al-Attar, 20, was shot and killed by Israeli naval forces while fishing on his fishing boat in Palestinian territorial waters, in northern Gaza.

Dr. Ashraf al-Qedra, the spokesperson of the Health Ministry in Gaza, said the navy fired many live rounds at the fishing boats, killing Nawwaf.

The slain fisherman was killed in Palestinian waters, west of Beit Lahia, in northern Gaza. Al-Attar was from al-Atatra area in Beit Lahia.

His death brings the number of Palestinians, killed by Israeli army fire and shells, since last Saturday, to fourteen.

One of them, identified as Akram Yousef Ma’rouf, 29, was killed on Tuesday evening, by a missile fired from an Israeli drone, into the Shaima’ area, in Beit Lahia.

It is worth mentioning that the Palestinian Minister of Public Works and Housing, Mofeed al-Hasayneh, has reported that the Israeli shelling and bombardment in the Gaza Strip, since Sunday, has caused destruction and damage to hundreds of buildings and structures.

He said that eight residential apartment buildings were destroyed, 50 were partially but seriously damaged, and 750 sustained light to moderate damage, and added that most of the targeted buildings are in the Gaza governorate.

The Israeli shells and missiles struck homes, the headquarters of Al-Aqsa TV, Ar-Rahma residential building, Al-Amal Hostel, Palestine Academy for Science and Technology, Ansar Governmental Center, a building owned by al-Yaziji family, in addition to many other buildings, structures and infrastructure sites.

November 13, 2018: Khaled Akram Yousef Ma’rouf, 29, was killed by an Israeli missile in the Shaima’ area, in Beit Lahia.

An Israeli military drone fired, on Tuesday evening, a missile at Palestinians in the Beit Lahia, in the northern part of the Gaza Strip, killing one and wounding two others.  Five Palestinians were also injured in Rafah and Khan Younis.

The dead and wounded were all moved to the Indonesian Hospital in Beit Lahia.

In addition, an Israeli drone fired a missile at Palestinians near the al-‘Aqqad School, east of Rafah, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, wounding two young men, before they were rushed to Abu Yousef Najjar Hospital in the city.

Furthermore, the army fired missiles at an area which the Army claimed was a center for an armed resistance group in Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, wounding three Palestinians, and causing damage to the building.

Also killed on November 13th were Khaled Riyad Ahmad Sultan, 26, who was killed by an Israeli airstrike while working on his own farmland, in the Salateen area, west of Beit Lahia, in northern Gaza, and Mos’ab Hos, 20, who was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Malaka area, east of the Zeitoun neighborhood in Gaza city.

Since Saturday, the Israeli military has killed thirteen Palestinians, and injured dozens, in the Gaza Strip.
