Mahmoud QishtaJuly 20, 2018: Mahmoud Khalil Qishta, 23, a fighter with the al-Qassam Brigades, was killed by an Israeli missile fired by the Israeli airforce from a drone aircraft toward a site run by the al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.

Mahmoud was one of three fighters killed by Israeli drone airstrikes in Rafah and Khan Younis targeting al-Qassam sites. The Al-Qassam Brigades issued a statement mourning Sha’ban Rajab Abu Khater, 26, and Mohammad Riyad Abu Farhana, 31, from Khan Younis, in addition to Mahmoud Khalil Qishta, 23, from Rafah. It said that the fighters were killed when the army fired missiles at observation posts in Rafah and Khan Younis.

That same day, an Israeli army sharpshooter shot Mohammad Sharif Badwan, 27, with a live round in the chest, east of Gaza City. Mohammad was killed while participating in the Great Return March procession, east of Gaza city, when the soldiers attacked the protesters with live fire, rubber-coated steel bullets, high-velocity gas bombs and concussion grenades.

The al-Qassam Brigades vowed fierce retaliation to the serious Israeli escalation, and said the “Israeli crimes are foolish acts, which will cause Israel to pay dearly.”

The bodies of the three Palestinians were severely mutilated by the Israeli missiles, and their remains were moved to the field clinic, east of Khan Younis.

Following the attack, Palestinian fighters exchanged fire with Israeli soldiers along the border areas, while the army fired more live rounds, in addition to several shells into northern Gaza.

Furthermore, the soldiers shot a child, 14 years of age, with a live round in the head, east of Khan Younis, during the Great March of Return Procession that afternoon, and fired many live rounds at homes, east of Abasan, east of Khan Younis.

The soldiers injured 120 Palestinians, and caused dozens to suffer the effects of teargas inhalation, along the eastern border areas, in the Gaza Strip.

On Thursday afternoon, the al-Qassam Brigades issued a statement saying that the Israeli missiles were fired at an observation post, east of Rafah, killing Abdul-Karim Ismael Radwan, 22, and wounding three others.

Meanwhile, Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman said on July 20th, the day of the drone strikes, that Israel is planning an assault on Gaza, bigger than the Israeli war on the coastal region in 2014, in which 2100 Palestinians, including entire families, were killed, and thousands were injured.

According to local sources, hundreds of Gaza residents raced to the return camps along the eastern border of the Gaza Strip, to protest non-violently, even as Israel threatened an all-out war.

Sources added that protesters set car tires on fire, in attempt to blur the vision of Israeli snipers with smoke and flames, while they proceeded with the march.

Abdul-Karim Radwan

July 19, 2018: Abdul-Karim Radwan, 22, was killed by a missile dropped by an Israeli military drone east of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, while three others were injured, one of them seriously.

The Palestinian Health Ministry reported that Abdul-Karim died from his serious wounds in a hospital in Rafah, despite all efforts to save his life.

According to the Health Ministry, three other Palestinians were injured by the Israeli missile, including one who suffered serious wounds, and is currently on life support.

Media sources in Gaza said the slain Palestinian is an officer with the Field Control Department of the Palestinian Interior Ministry.

Furthermore, three armored Israeli military bulldozers advanced approximately 50 meters into Palestinian lands in southern Gaza, and placed sand barriers.

Commenting on the casualties in Gaza, the Israeli army claimed it targeted “Palestinians flying flammable balloons near a post run by the armed wing of Hamas in Rafah,” and added that Palestinian fighters “fired mortar shells at soldiers operating near southern Gaza.”

According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, in the period between March 30th and July 17th, 2018, Israeli forces killed 142 Palestinian non-violent demonstrators, and wounded 16496.

7901 of the wounded were treated in field trauma stabilization units, while 8695 of the wounded were transferred to several hospitals. 17 of the slain Palestinians are children. 68 of the wounded had limbs amputated. Israeli army fire also caused damage to 58 Palestinian ambulances in several parts of the Gaza Strip.

During this period, Palestinian demonstrators have gathered each Friday at the border fence between Gaza and Israel for the ‘Great March of Return’, in which they are demanding a lifting of the decade of sanctions against Gaza, the opening of the border, and the right of return for Palestinian refugees to homes they were forcibly removed from in 1948 during the creation of the state of Israel.

Mohammad Nasser Shorab

Mohammad SharabJuly 14, 2018: Mohammad Nasser Shorab, 18, was shot and critically wounded by Israeli forces while at a protest at the Gaza-Israel border as part of the Great Return March protest. After surgeons tried for hours to save his life, he died in the early morning hours on Saturday.

The Palestinian Health Ministry confirmed that Israeli soldiers killed Mohammad with live gunfire, in addition to another teen, Omar Hallas, and injured 220 residents, including one journalist, Mo’in ad-Dabba, and two medics, during Great Return March protests on July 13th, 2018, in the Gaza Strip.

The Health Ministry said 55 of the wounded Palestinians were rushed to hospitals in the coastal region, and added that 165 others suffered the effects of teargas inhalation.

The Ministry said Mohammad was shot with live Israeli army fire, during the Great Return March procession, east of Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.

It added that Mohammad, from Khan Younis, was declared clinically dead, late on Friday at night, and succumbed to his serious wounds approximately at 7 in the morning, Saturday.

The Great March of Return protests began on March 30, for the commemoration of Land Day, when, in 1976, six Palestinian citizens of Israel were killed by Israeli forces, after protesting the confiscation of their land.

Demonstrations reached a peak on May 14th, 2018, which marked 70 years since the Nakba – the ethnic cleansing of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians by Zionist militias. It was also the day that Donald Trump moved the U.S. Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, thereby denying the right to exist of the hundreds of thousands of Palestinians living in the city.

On May 14th, Israeli forces committed a massacre against the unarmed demonstrators in Gaza, killing 60.

Since then, over 137 Palestinians have been killed and some 15,000 others injured by Israeli forces attacking protests in Gaza since March 30th 2018.

The Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR) issued a detailed account of the assassination of Othman, and a condemnation of the shooting of the clearly unarmed protester.

Othman Rami Hallas

July 13, 2018: Othman Rami Hillis, 15, was shot and killed by Israeli forces while at a protest at the Gaza-Israel border as part of the Great Return March protest.

The Palestinian Health Ministry confirmed that Israeli soldiers killed Othman, and injured 220 residents, including one journalist, Mo’in ad-Dabba, and two medics, during Great Return March protests in the Gaza Strip.

A video of the incident showed the child, along with other Palestinian protesters, near the border fence when the Israeli army sharpshooter killed him as he reached for the railing on the fence, which is installed on the Palestinian side of the border.

Mohammad Kamal Abu Halima

July 06, 2018: Mohammad Kamal Abu Halima, 22, was killed by Israeli soldiers during the “Great Return March” procession, in the eastern parts of the Gaza Strip.

The Palestinian Health ministry said Mohammad was killed after the soldiers shot him with a live round in the chest, east of Gaza city.

It added that the soldiers injured 396 Palestinians, including 57 with live fire, and added that 277 of the wounded persons were treated in field trauma stabilization units, and 119, including 57 who were shot with live fire, were rushed to various hospitals in the coastal region.

Among the wounded Palestinians, who were rushed to hospitals, are thirteen children and three women.

The Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR) denounced the Israeli excessive use for force against the nonviolent protesters and added that the soldiers injured a total of twenty-four children, seven women, five paramedics and one journalist, in addition to causing dozens to suffer the effects of teargas inhalation.

It held both Israel’s military and political leadership responsible to the high number of civilian casualties in Gaza, especially since they granted a green line to the military to resort to the excessive and lethal use of force against the peaceful protesters, who posed no threat to the lives of the soldiers, barricaded hundreds of meters away across the parameter fence. Mahmoud Majed Gharabli

July 4, 2018: Mahmoud Majed Gharabli, 16, died from serious wounds he suffered on May 14th, after Israeli soldiers shot him during the Great Return March in Gaza.

The Ministry said the teen was shot by an Israeli army sniper east of Gaza city, while participating in a non-violent demonstration at the Gaza-Israel border.

The teen was shot in the head and remained in serious condition until he succumbed to his wounds on July 4th.

On the same day of his injury, May 14th, the soldiers killed sixty Palestinians, and injured 2700, including 27 who suffered very serious wounds, 59 serious injuries, 735 moderate wounds, and 882 suffered light wounds. Several Palestinians died from their critical injuries days, or weeks, after the being shot.

772 of the wounded Palestinians were shot with live rounds, three with rubber-coated steel bullets, 91 with shrapnel, 100 cuts and bruises and 737 suffered the effects of teargas inhalation.

65 of the wounded were shot in the head and neck, 116 in their arms, 48 in the chest and back, 651 in the lower extremities, 52 in several parts of their bodies and 737 suffered the effects of teargas inhalation.

Mohammad’s death brings the number of Palestinians, who were killed in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the Great Return March on March 30th, to 136, including 17 children and two women, as confirmed by the Health Ministry in Gaza.

The Ministry also said that the soldiers injured 15501 Palestinians, including 7270 who were treated in field trauma stabilization units, and 8221 who were moved to hospitals.

Among the injured are 2525 children, 1158 women, in addition to 375 who suffered severe wounds, 3819 moderate wounds, and 4027 minor injuries.

The Ministry said Israeli soldiers shot 4024 Palestinians with live ammunition, 428 with rubber-coated steel bullets, 1497 suffered severe effects of gas inhalation, and 2273 suffered various cuts and bruises.

588 of the wounded were injured in the head and neck, 340 in the chest and back, 370 in the abdomen and pelvis, 1011 in the upper limbs, 4161 in the lower limbs, and 1606 in other parts of their bodies.

It also said that 55 Palestinians suffered amputations in their lower limbs, 1 in the upper limb, and 6 suffered amputations of fingers.

The Israeli army also killed two Palestinian medics, identified as Razan Ashraf Najjar, 22, and Mousa Jaber Abu Hassanein, 36, injured 318 others with live bullets and gas bombs, and caused damage to 45 ambulances.

In addition, the soldiers killed two journalists, identified as Yasser Mortaja, 31, and Ahmad Mohammad Abu Hussein, 25.

Abdul-Fattah Abu ‘Azzoum

June 28, 2018: Abdul-Fattah Mustafa Abu ‘Azzoum, 17, died from serious wounds he suffered earlier at dawn, after Israeli soldiers fired shells at Palestinians in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.

Dr. Ashraf al-Qedra, the spokesperson of the Health Ministry said the child suffered serious head wounds, inflicted by fragments of an Israel shell.

He was rushed to Abu Yousef Najjar Hospital, in Rafah, where he underwent an urgent surgery, but later succumbed to his wounds at the Intensive Care Unit.

Another Palestinian was also injured in the Israeli attack, and suffered moderate-to-severe wounds to several parts of his body.

The Israeli army claimed that the two Palestinians “were crawling towards the border fence,” when the soldiers fired a shell at them.

On Wednesday evening, the soldiers shot four Palestinians, including one who suffered serious wounds, and detained one child, east of Rafah, after the army claimed they attempted to breech the border fence.

On June 24, a young man, identified as Osama Khalil Abu Khater, 29, died from serious wounds he suffered, two days earlier, when Israeli soldiers shot him with live fire during a protest at the Gaza border fence.

The latest deaths bring the number of Palestinians, killed by Israeli army fire and shells since the “Great Return March” processions started on Palestinian Land Day, on March 30th 2018, to 133 including two journalists, identified as Yasser Mortaja, 31, and Ahmad Abu Hussein, 25.

Osama Khalil Abu Khater

June 24, 2018: Osama Khalil Abu Khater, 29, died at dawn from serious wounds he suffered last Friday when Israeli soldiers shot him with live fire during a demonstration at the Gaza border fence.

Dr. Ashraf al-Qedra, the spokesperson of the Health Ministry in Gaza said the young man, identified as Osama was shot with a live Israeli army bullet in the abdomen, during Friday’s Great Return March procession.

He added that Abu Khater, who was shot east of Khan Younis in southern Gaza Strip, suffered a serious injury, and was rushed to the Gaza European Hospital, in southern Gaza, but succumbed to his wounds.

On Tuesday June 19, a cancer patient identified as Masoud Abdul Hai Abu Saqer, aged 49, died at Erez/Beit Hanoun crossing between Gaza and Israel, while awaiting to be interviewed by Israeli security officers, to discuss his permit application to receive treatment at an East Jerusalem hospital.

On Wednesday June 20, a young Palestinian man, identified as Mohammad Ghassan Abu Doqqa, 22, died from serious wounds he suffered when Israeli soldiers shot him on May 14th, 2018, east of Khuza’a town, east of Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.

Dr. al-Qedra said Abu Khater’s death brings the number of Palestinians, killed by Israeli army fire since the Great Return March processions started on Palestinian Land Day, on March 30th, to 131, including 13 children, and two journalists, identified as Yasser Mortaja, 31, and Ahmad Abu Hussein, 25, and wounded 144 others.

The soldiers also  killed two medics, identified as Razan Najjar, 22, and Mousa Jaber Abu Hassanein, 36, injured 223 others, and caused damage to 37 ambulances.

Mohammad Ghassan Abu Doqqa

June 20, 2018: Mohammad Ghassan Abu Doqqa, 22, died of wounds sustained when he was shot and serious injured by Israeli army fire on May 14th, 2018 during the Great Return March protest.

Dr. Ashraf al-Qedra, the spokesperson of the Health Ministry in Gaza, said that Mohammad suffered a very serious wound after Israeli soldiers shot him with live fire, east of Khuza’a town, east of Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.

He said Mohammad was rushed to a hospital in Khan Younis but was later moved to a hospital in occupied Jerusalem, due to the seriousness of his condition.

On June 18, 2018, a child identified as Zakariya Hussein Bashbash, 13, died of serious wounds sustained several days earlier when he was shot by Israeli soldiers at a protest in Gaza.

On the same day that Zakariya died of his wounds, Israeli soldiers killed Sabri Ahmad Abu Khader, 24, after shooting him with live fire near the Great Return Camp, east of Gaza city.

His death brings the number of Palestinians who were killed by Israeli army fire since March 30th, 2018 to 129, including two journalists and thirteen children.

The army also injured 13672 others, including hundreds of suffered serious wounds, mainly after being shot with expanding bullets.

In addition, the soldiers killed two medics, identified as Razan Najjar, 22, and Mousa Jaber Abu Hassanein, 36, injured 223 others, and caused damage to 37 ambulances.

The army also killed two journalists, identified as Yasser Mortaja, 31, and Ahmad Abu Hussein, 25, and wounded 144 others.
