May 10th, 2021: Ibrahim Yousef Atallah al-Masri, 10, was killed in his home in Beit Hanoun, in northern Gaza, when his home was struck by two missiles, destroying it and crushing the family members who were sheltered inside.

The al-Masri family members killed in the missile strike were identified as:

  • Ibrahim Yousef Atallah al-Masri, 10 years old
  • Yazin Sultan Atallah al-Masri, 1-year-old
  • Marwan Yousef Atallah al-Masri, 12
  • Rahaf Mohammad Atallah al-Masri, 10-year-old girl
  • Ahmad Mohammad Atallah al-Masri, 20

The Israeli army also fired a missile at a motorcycle near a mosque in Beit Hanoun, killing Mohammad Nosseir and Mohammad Fayyad, in addition to firing a missile into the home of Husam Ali Nosseir, behind Abu Bakr Mosque in Beit Hanoun, causing several injuries.

According to Jerusalem (Quds) Press correspondent, Israeli jets fired missiles at a large gathering of Palestinian civilians on Al-Masryin Street, adding that several people were transferred to the hospital for their injuries.

Saber Ibrahim Suleiman, 39, was killed, along with his 16-year old son Mohammad, at their family home near Jabalia in northern Gaza. Israeli forces fired a missile at their land, killing landowner Saber Ibrahim Suleiman, and his son Mohammad.

The Palestinian Health Ministry in the Gaza Strip has confirmed, on Monday at night, that the Israeli army’s bombardment and shelling of the Gaza Strip, has resulted in the death of twenty Palestinians, including 9 children, and the injury of 95 others.

The Health Ministry added that, among the slain children is a girl, only nine years of age.

It also said the 95 Palestinians, including children and women, were injured by the Israeli missiles and shells, some seriously.

Meanwhile, the Ma’an News Agency has reported that five Palestinians were killed when an Israeli shell struck a yard behind the al-Omari Mosque in Gaza.

The Israeli bombardment in Jabalia also led to the death of Esmat Sha’ban az-Zein, Mousa Khalil az-Zein, Zakariya Ziad Alloush, Bashir Mohammad Alloush, Raed al-‘Abed Abu Warda, Nabil an-No’mani Dardouna, and Mustafa Mohammad Obeid.

In Beit Hanoun, the soldiers fired two missiles at the home of Ibrahim Atallah al-Masri, killing eight Palestinians and wounding several others.

Earlier Monday, the “Joint Chamber of Palestinian Resistance Factions” demanded that the Israeli authorities disengage from the sacred Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in occupied Jerusalem.

Resistance factions set a deadline of 6pm, at which time they would retaliate for the violations against the Palestinians in occupied Jerusalem.

At 6pm the Palestinian resistance reportedly fired several crude, homemade rockets into Israel from the besieged Gaza Strip, no casualties or damage were reported.

Immediately afterward, Israeli warplanes began flying over Gaza and dropping missiles on the civilian population of Gaza. Although Israel claimed they were targeted Palestinian resistance operations, the Israeli military offered no evidence of that claim, and the overwhelming majority of those killed were civilians.

Hussein Munir Hussein Hamad

May 10, 2021: Hussein Munir Hussein Hamad, 11, was killed in an Israeli airstrike in the Gaza Strip.

He was among at least 26 Palestinians, including 9 children and one woman, killed in Israeli airstrikes that day in the Gaza Strip. Israel began its assault on Gaza on the night of May 9th, following three weeks of Israeli settler and soldier attacks on Palestinians in Jerusalem.

The Israeli attacks in Jerusalem began on the first day of Ramadan on April 12th, and continued throughout the Muslim holy month, which was set to end Wednesday, May 12th. Israel’s attacks focused on Palestinian Muslims attempting to pray at the holy al-Aqsa Mosque during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

In addition to the nine children, including a 9-year old girl, who were confirmed killed in the first wave of Israeli airstrikes, local sources confirmed that a woman and her disabled son were among those slain.

In addition to those identified in the update below, five additional victims have been identified as having been killed by the two missiles that struck the home of Ibrahim Atallah al-Masri in Beit Hanoun, in northern Gaza Monday night.

Before dawn Tuesday, the Israeli army fired missiles into an apartment in a residential tower, in the Rimal neighborhood, west of Gaza city, killing three Palestinians, and seriously wounding one, in addition to injuring at least seven other Palestinians in adjacent apartments. The Maan News Agency said the army targeted leaders of the al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad, in the residential tower. The slain Palestinians have been identified as:

  • Sameh al-Mamlouk
  • Kamal Taiseer Qreiqe’, 35
  • Mohammad Abu al-Ata

Extrajudicial assassinations are considered violations of international law but are a common practice by the Israeli military.

In Khan Younis, a Palestinian died of wounds sustained Monday evening during Israeli missile attacks in the al-Manara area of the city. He has been identified as:

  • Salim Mahmoud al-Farra, 37

ZakariahMarch 7th, 2021: Zakariya Hijazi Lahham, 24, was one of three fishermen killed, while another was seriously injured, near Khan Younis in the southern part of the besieged Gaza Strip, due to an explosion in their boat. The Israeli army said it had nothing to do with the incident, but a full investigation of the incident by the Palestinian Authority in Gaza found that the explosion was called by an Israeli-placed floating bomb that had been dropped by a drone on February 22nd.

The three were identified as Mohammad Hijazi Lahham, 27, his brother Zakariya Hijazi Lahham, 24, and their cousin Yahia Mustafa Lahham, 29. One other fisherman from the same family was seriously injured in the incident.

A week after the incident, the Hamas-led Interior Ministry in Gaza released the results of its investigation into the deaths of the three fishermen off the coast of Gaza near Khan Younis. The Ministry collected evidence, and based their investigation on three possibilities:

  1. That the boat was hit by a misfire from resistance fighters in training
  2. That the Israeli navy targeted and fired at the boat
  3. That the boat struck an unexploded mine in the water

The investigators went to the training site of the al-Qassam Brigades and checked the surveillance video and the distance range of each of the rockets there. Knowing the range of the rockets, and checking forensic and video evidence, the investigators ruled out this possibility.

By collecting testimonies from the fishermen and the Palestinian naval police, and by collecting recordings from surveillance cameras, it became clear that the Israeli navy did not fire missiles at the boats.

The investigation committee concluded that this explosion was tied to a previous incident, which took place on February 22nd in Khan Younis sea, near the location where the explosion took place in the boat.

During this incident, the Israeli Navy used Quad Copter drones to drop floating bombs in the sea. These bombs carry powerful explosives, and are like ‘landmines’ on the sea in that the impact is usually on innocents.

After collecting all evidence from the explosion site in the sea, and after receiving into custody the destroyed boat and nets, the investigators concluded:

  1. Nearly 30 minutes before the explosion took place, two fishermen found an Israeli quad copter drone stuck in their nets near the location of the explosion. They managed to remove it and give it to the Palestinian naval police.
  2. The remains of another quad copter drone was found stuck in the nets of the three slain fishermen, after the divers collected the wreckage.
  3. The investigators found the backside of the boat and other parts of the boat, and concluded that the explosion took place under the right side of the boat.
  4. By comparing the quad copter that was found by the fishermen to the remains of the quad copter found in the wreckage of the exploded boat, the two were of similar make.
  5. Forensics experts found that the fishermen were killed by the explosive shock and shrapnel was not found in their bodies.
  6. Following all of the evidence, the investigators concluded that Israel is fully responsible for the deaths of the three fishermen on March 7th in Khan Younis Sea.

The Ministry called on national, international, legal and human rights groups to take a stand and call for an end to Israel’s continued violations against the Palestinian people and their humanity.

Prior to launching the investigation, the Ministry released a statement, “We express our sincere condolences to the families of Mohammad Hijazi Saleh Lahham, Zakariya Hijazi Saleh Lahham, and Yahia Mustafa Saleh Lahham,” the brigades said, “We will investigate this painful incident and will reveal the whole truth as soon as possible.”

In a statement issued by the Israeli army on its official Twitter account, the spokesperson denied any relation to the incident, and added: “our indications show that their deaths were caused by an explosion inside Gaza.”

On the same day, the soldiers stationed on military towers and in armored vehicles across the perimeter fence, fired many live rounds at Palestinian farmers and shepherds, east of Khan Younis.

The farmers and the shepherds had to leave their lands in fear of further Israeli military violations.

The attack is part of the numerous and ongoing Israeli violations targeting the Palestinian farmers, shepherds, and fishermen in the Gaza Strip.

These attacks have led to dozens of casualties, including fatalities, in addition to the abduction of many farmers, shepherds, and fishermen.

October 9th, 2020: Suhaib Ibrahim Al-Khatib, 19, died in a tunnel accident, in one of the many ‘siege-busting’ tunnels constructed underground to bring lifesaving aid to the people of Gaza.

The Al-Qassam Brigades confirmed the accidental death of a Palestinian resistance fighter in the southern besieged Gaza Strip

The military wing of the Hamas Resistance Movement, said the young man, Suhaib Ibrahim Al-Khatib, 19, was killed in an undisclosed accident in Rafah, on Friday night.

The correspondent stated that Al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas leaders and hundreds of Palestinian civilians attended the funeral, on Saturday, at the “Al-Nour” mosque in Rafah, then carried out in a march to the cemetery.

Khalil LubbadSeptember 20th, 2020: Khalil Mohammad Lubbad, 27, died when a tunnel collapsed on him in the northern part of the Gaza Strip. Three other fighters were injured in the collapse, all of whom were members of the Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas.

Medical sources said the fighter was taken to the Indonesian Hospital, in Jabalia, along with three other Palestinians who were injured in the same incident, and that one of them is in a serious condition.

Dozens of Palestinians, including civilians not affiliated with any armed resistance groups, were killed and scores were injured in similar accidents, while many were killed or injured when the Israeli army bombarded the tunnels while they were working in them.

Tunnels in Gaza are not all used by armed resistance groups to smuggle weapons into the besieged coastal region, as many are used to smuggle goods and supplies, including medical supplies and fuel, into the enclave.

Many Palestinian civilians work in the tunnels to provide for their families due to the high levels of unemployment and poverty.

Mo’taz Amer al-Mibyed

August 24th, 2020: Mo’taz Amer al-Mibyed, 29, was one of four Palestinian resistance fighters killed in an explosion in Gaza City.

Medics and rescue teams first found the corpses of two Palestinians, and later found two others during the search.

The Al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad, issued a statement confirming that the four Palestinians are members of the group.

It confirmed their identity as Eyad Jamal al-Jedy, 42, Mo’taz Amer al-Mibyed, 29, Yahia Farid al-Mibyed, 23, Yacoub Monther Zeidiyya, 25, and Yacoub Monther Zeidiyya, 25.

The four fighters, from the Sheja’eyya neighborhood, in Gaza city, were apparently killed in an accidental explosion, likely during training.

For its part, the Israeli army denied any relation to the incident and said it did not target any area in Gaza at the time.

On Sunday, Israeli navy ships attacked Palestinian fishermen within one nautical mile off the Gaza shore, while, on Saturday morning, the soldiers fired live rounds at Palestinian farmers and shepherds.

It is worth mentioning that the Israeli army has been bombing Gaza for about two weeks, in addition to escalating its attacks against farmers on their lands near the perimeter fence, and fisherman in Palestinian territorial waters in the coastal enclave.
