Mohammad Jibril Rommaneh

September 29, 2023: Mohammad Jibril Rommaneh, 18, was killed by Israeli soldiers who also injured another Palestinian after opening fire at their car near Al-Biereh city in the occupied West Bank’s central part.

The soldiers fired a barrage of live rounds at a Palestinian car near the illegal Psagot Israeli colony, built on stolen Palestinian lands in Jabal At-Tawil near Al-Biereh, and later took the two Palestinians to an Israeli medical center.

The Public Relations Department of the Health Ministry in Ramallah has confirmed that the soldiers fatally shot Rommaneh and injured another young man, Mohammad Abu Rabea’, after opening fire at their car.

It added that Rommaneh succumbed to serious abdominal gunshot wounds at an Israeli medical center and stated that the other Palestinian suffered injuries to his lower limbs.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said its medics rushed to the scene after the soldiers shot the two Palestinians, but the army did not allow them to approach them to provide essential first aid.

The Israeli army claimed its soldiers shot two Palestinians who “hurled Molotov cocktails at a military post near Psagot” and added that no soldiers were injured.

After Mohammad’s death, dozens of Palestinians marched in front of his home in the refugee camp, carrying Palestinian flags and chanting for ongoing resistance until liberation and independence.

Abdul-Rahim Fayez Ghannam

September 1, 2023: Abdul-Rahim Fayez Ghannam, 36, was killed by Israeli forces during a military assault on the village of Aqaba, northwest of Tubas, in the northeastern part of the occupied West Bank.

The Palestinian Health Ministry has confirmed that the soldiers killed Abdul-Rahim Fayez Ghannam, 36, after shooting him with live rounds in the head. The invading soldiers also wounded three Palestinians.

His death came after many military vehicles invaded Aqaba and surrounded a home while firing live rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets, gas bombs, and concussion grenades.

The Health Ministry said the soldiers shot four young men, including the slain man, with live fire and two with rubber-coated steel bullets, in addition to causing many to suffer bruises and the effects of tear gas inhalation.

A large army force infiltrated the village of Aqaba, besieged the home of Abdul-Raziq Mohammad Abu Arra, 51, where armed resistance fighters apparently sheltered, and fired missiles at the property, before abducting Abdul-Raziq’s son, Bakr Abu Arra, 30.

The Israeli army also blocked ambulance crews and media outlets from reaching the invaded area, and fired live rounds at Palestinian ambulances, causes damage.

Armed Palestinian resistance fighters fiercely resisted the invasion, exchanging heavy fire with the attacking Israeli forces.

According to eyewitness accounts, the army invaded the Tubas Turkish Governmental Hospital and positioned sharpshooters on its rooftops.

In a press statement, Nidal Odeh, the head of the Ambulance and Emergency in Tubas, said, “We dealt with several injuries from bullets, gas and rubber during the occupation’s storming of the town of Aqaba, and an ambulance was directly hit by the occupation’s bullets.”

Media sources said that soldiers besieged and bombed the home where Ahmed Walid Abu Arra was trapped, in an attempt to compel him to surrender himself.

Israeli Army Radio claimed that Abu Arra carried out a shooting attack near the “Hamra” checkpoint in the Jordan Valley one month ago, which slightly injured a female settler.

It was added that the besieged home belongs to destroying the house of the citizen Abdul-Razeq Qassem Muhammad Abu Arra, a member of the wanted young man’s family.

On Friday afternoon, hundreds of Palestinians gathered in front of the Tubas Turkish Governmental Hospital to receive the body of the slain young man.

Mourners carried the body on their shoulders, through the streets to his family home, in Aqaba village, where his loved ones said their final goodbyes.

After the Friday prayer, mourners performed the funeral prayer over the body, before laying him to rest in the martyrs’ cemetery in the village.

Two other soldiers sustained mild wounds, adding that two Israeli citizens in a nearby car and a 15-year-old Palestinian child were also injured.

The driver drove away and was apprehended at another checkpoint several kilometers down the road. Several soldiers at that checkpoint drew their weapons and shot the driver, killing him.

The driver of the vehicle has been identified as Daoud Abdul-Razeq Daras, a 41-year-old father of five who was working in Israel and driving back to the West Bank when the collision occurred.

Israeli Ynet News said the Palestinian “entered Israel on foot at 5:55 in the early morning using his work permit and then boarded a truck with an Israeli license plate.”

The Maan News Agency quoted the Israeli Army Radio stating that further investigations revealed that the Palestinian driver was assaulted by Israeli soldiers at a military roadblock seven kilometers away two weeks ago.

The collision, and subsequent shooting of the driver of the vehicle, took place near a military checkpoint by the illegal Israeli colony known as ‘Mod’in’, which is built on stolen Palestinian land owned by residents of the village of Beit Sira.

The Times Of Israel said the soldier who was killed was off-duty, and added that six persons, including soldiers, were wounded.

Khaled Samer Al-Za’anin

August 30, 2023: Khaled Samer Al-Za’anin, 14, was shot and killed by Israeli forces at a light rail station near the Damascus Gate (Bab al-Amoud), in occupied Jerusalem in the West Bank after an alleged stabbing attack.

Hebrew sources claimed that the Palestinian child stabbed an illegal Israeli settler in the “Al-Musrara” neighborhood in occupied Jerusalem before security officers and settlers attacked him at the light rail station.

Israeli police arrived at the scene, and rather than taking the child into custody, a police officer shot him at close range and failed to provide him with medical treatment, causing him to bleed to death.

Also, Israeli police officers assaulted Palestinian journalists who attempted to approach the scene to provide media coverage.

Israeli settlers were shown on social media videos attacking vehicles at the scene and applauding the killing of the Palestinian child.

Furthermore, the soldiers prevented local Palestinians from approaching the home of the slain child, which sparked protests among local Palestinian youths, who burned rubber tires.

Shortly after Khaled’s death, the army invaded and destroyed the contents of his family home, and caused injuries to members of his family, in the Beit Hanina neighborhood, north of occupied East Jerusalem.

Soldiers fired rubber-coated steel rounds, concussion grenades, and tear gas canisters at local citizens and at the home of the slain child, causing inhalation injuries.

Later it was reported that occupation forces abducted the father, mother, brother, and sister of the slain child.

Othman Atef Abu Kharj

August 22, 2023: Othman Atef Abu Kharj, 17, was shot and killed by Israeli troops, who shot him with live ammunition in the head and shoulder during an invasion of the town of Zababda, south of Jenin, in the northern West Bank.

Abu Kharj was one of a group of youth that confronted the invading army at the entrance to their village, shouting slogans and throwing stones.

Invading Israeli soldiers shot the youth with multiple live rounds. He was taken to the Al-Razi Hospital in Jenin, where he was declared dead by hospital officials after doctors were unable to save his life.

Fawaz Hammad, director of the Al-Razi Hospotal, told the Palestinian Wafa News Agency that the child, Othman Atef Abu Kharj (17 years old), died of injuries he sustained at dawn, during the clashes that erupted after the invasion of the town.

The Israeli occupation forces also abducted the young man, Yazan Malik Al-Sharqawi, after raiding his family’s house and the homes of his relatives in the town of Al-Zababda.

According to ‘Visit Palestine’, the village of Zababda is home to about 3,000 inhabitants and is the only majority-Christian village in the northern West Bank.

Ruins found under the village show settlement dating to the Byzantine times. At the convent of the Rosary Sisters, a 6th century mosaic, as well as remnants of columns indicates that there was once a significant Byzantine church on the site. In the center of the village the remains of a Byzantine-Roman building, known as the Baubariya, can be found.

The modern village of Zababda was founded in the 17th century. Within the village there are four small churches belonging to the Catholic, Anglican, Melkite, and Greek Orthodox denominations. The village is also home to the Arab American University of Jenin.

The Israeli woman killed in the shooting has been identified as Betsheva Nigri, 40, while another Israeli, Aryeh Gottleib, 39, was seriously injured.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said Monday that the army arrested two young Palestinian men, both relatives from Hebron, who were believed to be behind the shooting and said in a social media post that the army will continue to “pursue and arrest Israel’s enemies…”

A joint statement by the Shin Bet, Israeli Border Police, and the Israeli Army confirmed the arrest of the two Palestinians and said they were moved to an interrogation facility run by the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency). During the invasion and the arrests, the Israeli army said it located and confiscated several weapons.

The army said the two did not resist the soldiers who abducted them. One of them, believed to be the one who killed the Israeli settler woman, has been identified as Saqer Shanteer.

It also said the gun reportedly used in the attack was located and confiscated, adding that the car the Palestinians used in the shooting was found burnt near Halhoul town, north of Hebron.

The gun used in the attack was also apprehended and the car that was allegedly used by the terrorists in their attack was found burned in the near-by city of Halhul.

Israeli military sources issued a statement claiming that two Israelis were shot from a passing vehicle.

Israeli forces closed all Palestinian roads in the area and implemented checkpoints, causing serious travel delays for the Palestinian population of the southern West Bank.

The wounded man was taken to Soroka Medical Center in Be’er As-Sabe’ (Beersheva) in serious condition.

Mohammad Nasser Abu Assab

Mohammad Abu AssabAugust 19, 2023: Mohammad Nasser Daoud Abu Assab, 19, died of wounds sustained three days earlier when he was shot by Israeli soldiers in Balata refugee camp, east of Nablus, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.

Shay Silas Nigreker

ShayAugust 19, 2023: Shay Silas Nigreker, 60, was shot and killed, along with his son, Aviad Nir, 28, by an unknown perpetrator at a car wash in the West Bank.

The two men were residents of Ashdod, south of Tel Aviv, in the southern part of Israel. They had apparently been visiting a friend in an illegal Israeli settlement in the West Bank, and were returning back to Ashdod when they stopped at a car wash in the northern West Bank town of Huwara, south of Nablus.

Media sources said that an unknown assailant opened fire, critically injuring the Israeli man and his son. The shooter then fled on foot.

According to Palestinian sources, Israeli officials initially thought that the victims were Palestinian and did not send an ambulance for thirty minutes.

During that time, a Palestinian ambulance with the Red Crescent emergency response service arrived on the scene and tried to treat the two wounded men. After 30 minutes, an Israeli ambulance with the Magen David Adom ambulance service arrived and took over the resuscitation efforts, which were unsuccessful.

According to the Israeli army’s preliminary investigation, the shooter approached the men on foot, and fired from close range with a handgun.

The Israeli occupation army, in its continued search for the perpetrator, closed several military roadblocks in the vicinity of Nablus and the town of Huwara, tightening its inspection procedures, causing severe traffic crises.

The military arrested the owner of the car wash where the attack took place, although there is no indication that he was involved in any way. The army has not identified the perpetrator of Saturday’s shooting, but they locked down all of the nearby villages and towns and have installed additional checkpoints and raided homes and cars in the area.

On Saturday night, following the daytime shooting attack, Israeli colonial settlers rampaged in the town of Huwara, throwing rocks at Palestinian pedestrians and vehicles and setting fires, in a scene that brought back memories of the Israeli settler riots in February, in which hundreds of Palestinian homes and cars were burned by Israeli paramilitary settlers. During the February riots, Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich stated that he wanted Huwara to be ‘wiped off the map’, saying it was a ‘hotbed for terrorists’.

In the pre-dawn hours on Sunday morning, Israeli forces stationed in Huwara shot and wounded a masked Israeli paramilitary settler who had been throwing objects at vehicles on Route 60 – a road traveled by both Israeli colonial settlers and indigenous Palestinians.
