July 21, 2017: Chaya Salomon, 46, was killed by a Palestinian who infiltrated into her home in Halamish Israeli settlement, north of Ramallah in the West Bank, and stabbed her, along with her father, Yosef Solomon, 70, and her brother, Elad Salomon, 36.
Her mother was still receiving treatment at Shaare Zedek Israeli Medical Center in Jerusalem until the time of this report.
The Palestinian, identified as Omar al-‘Abed, from Kobar village, near Ramallah, was shot by a neighbor, before he hospitalized, and was later handed to the Israeli military for interrogation.
The family was celebrating the birth of a grandson when the attack took place in their home, located on the edge of the settlement.
Although the Israeli military and security devices believe the Palestinian identifies with Hamas, they do not believe he was an active member with the movement and acted alone, carrying out an attack that was motivated by the rising tension in Al-Aqsa Mosque, in Jerusalem.
