Aya Ibrahim Abu Sitta

July 29, 2014: Aya Ibrahim Abu Sitta, 23, was killed by Israeli missiles fired at the home of her father, Ibrahim Hassan Al-Najjar, in Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli bombardment also led to the death of her mother, Mona Ismail Khamis Al Najjar, 43, and her brother, Jehad, 25, in addition to Jehad’s wife, Maysa, 18, their infant daughter, Mona, 27 days of age, and her mother-in-law, Fawziya Qasem Al-Najjar, 81.

The Israeli strike demolished the home, and also killed Fawziya’s grandsons, Mohammad Zaki Al-Najjar, 30, and Hamad Yousif Al-Najjar, 23.

The attack against the Al-Najjar family home came at dawn, without a warning from the Israeli army, and damaged several nearby homes, in addition to causing at six injuries.

At least 45 Palestinians were killed by Israeli missiles and shells, in different parts of the Gaza Strip, on that day alone. Aya was from Khan Younis. Source: Mezan Center For Human Rights

Shahinaz Abu Jame’

July 20, 2014: Shahinaz Waleed Abu Jame’, 28, was killed by Israeli soldiers who fired missiles into the three-story house of Tawfiq Ahmad Abu Jame’, where five families lived, in Bani Suheila town, east of Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.

Her two sons, Ayoub, 6, and Rayan, 4, and her three daughters Fatma, 7, Rinad, 1.5, and Nujud, 4 months, in addition to her sister-in-law, Yasmin, 25, and her children, Batoul, 3, Suheila, 2, Bisan, 1, and her nephew, Husam, 6, were among the 25 family members, and a visiting acquaintance, who were killed in the attack.

The intensity of the Israeli bombardment and shelling prevented medics and rescue teams from conducting an efficient search, and a day later, they found 26 corpses under the rubble. Among the killed were 19 children, including two infant girls; one was four months, and the other was just one day old, while the rest were between the ages of 1 and 14. July 20, 2014: Aya Tawfiq Abu Jame’, 10, was killed by Israeli soldiers who fired missiles into the three-story house of her father Tawfiq Ahmad Abu Jame’, where five families lived, in Bani Suheila town, east of Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.

Her mother, Sabah, 39, her sisters, Razan, 14, Haifa, 9, and Maysa, only one day old, in addition to her brother Tawfiq, 5, , were also killed by the missiles.

Hedaya Talal Al-Helou

July 20, 2014: Hedaya Talal Al-Helou, 24, was killed by Israeli missiles that struck homes in the Sheja’eyya neighborhood, east of Gaza City. Her husband, 2-year-old daughter and five-month twin infant boys, along with several relatives, including children, were also killed, and many Palestinians were wounded. It took rescue and civil defense teams until July 27th to recover most of the bodies of the slain Palestinians as they remained buried under the rubble amidst ongoing Israeli bombardment.
