Qais Emad Shojaya

October 14, 2022: Qais Emad Shojaya, 23, from Deir Jarir village east of Ramallah, fired live rounds in the direction of Beit Eil colony, north of Ramallah, before he was shot.

The Palestinian Health Ministry was officially informed of his death and added that Qais was shot near the Al-Jalazoun refugee camp before the soldiers took his corpse away.

According to the army, Qais and another Palestinian fired several live rounds at the colony before the soldiers shot at them, killing Qais, but the second young man managed to escape unharmed.

The Israeli army initiated massive searches in the area, looking for the second Palestinian.

The army added that the two Palestinians reportedly approached the fence of Beit El before firing several rounds, mildly wounding a settler, 25, in the upper body while sitting outside his home.

The wounded colonizer remained conscious and alert before he received treatment from a medic living in the colony and was later moved to an Israeli hospital.

It is worth mentioning that, on October 18, 2015, Israeli soldiers shot Qais during protests in the area and prevented the Palestinian medics from approaching him before abducting the wounded young man.

The soldiers also abducted his brother on August 15, 2022, and he remains imprisoned by Israel.

Mohammad Maher Sa’id Turkman

October 14, 2022: Mohammad Maher Turkman (Ghawadra), 17, died from serious wounds he suffered along with his cousin, on September 2022, before they were abducted by the soldiers allegedly for being behind an attack on a bus transporting Israeli soldiers to a military base.

Mohammad suffered serious burns to most of his body when he and his cousin, Mohammad Walid Ghawadra, 22, reportedly attacked, on September 4, the bus transporting Israeli soldiers to a military base with Molotov cocktails and fired many live rounds at it.

The Israeli army claimed that one of the Molotov cocktail bottles ignited in their truck before they allegedly drove another kilometer and pulled over when their vehicle caught fire and continued on foot before Israeli soldiers abducted them.

According to Israeli media sources, the shots were fired from a passing truck. However, it is unclear how the shots were fired from a passing vehicle since photos of the bus show many bullet holes in the front part of the windshield, not on the side.

Mohammad remained in critical condition at the Tal HaShomer Israeli hospital due to burns that almost covered %90 of his body. The doctors treated him for severe wounds and amputated his left arm. The Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) said Mohammad’s cousin was seriously injured in the incident.

An Israeli court ordered their continued detention at the medical center, awaiting trial before Mohammad Maher Ghawadra succumbed to his serious wounds.

Palestinian Medical sources have confirmed that the soldiers killed the young man after shooting him with a live round in the head.

The sources added that the soldiers also shot with live ammunition four other Palestinians, including two journalists, and caused dozens to suffer the effects of tear gas inhalation.

Palestine TV has confirmed that the soldiers shot its journalists, Mahmoud Fawzi and Lu’ay Samhan, with live fire in their arms.

Palestine TV and eyewitnesses said the slain Palestinian was unarmed when the soldiers targeted him with live fire near the town’s main entrance, far away from where the soldiers were invading the town and attacking protesters.

The Israeli army claimed it invaded Deir Al-Hatab to arrest a Palestinian fighter, Salam Imran, who is allegedly responsible for shooting incidents targeting Israeli soldiers and colonizers near Nablus.

Salam is believed to be a member of the Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, and a member of the “Lion’s Den,” a united group of resistance fighters from various factions.

In a statement, the Israeli army said it invaded Deir Al-Hatab to arrest Imran for his alleged involvement in a shooting targeting an Israeli colonizer driving a taxi near Nablus.

The army claimed its soldiers exchanged fire with Palestinian resistance fighters and added that two officers were reportedly slightly injured.

The group is believed to be behind dozens of shooting incidents targeting Israeli soldiers, especially during the army’s operations in Jenin and Nablus, in the northern part of the West Bank.

Hundreds of Palestinians participated in Ala’s funeral ceremony and procession and carried his corpse from the Rafidia hospital in Nablus to his home in Askar refugee camp, east of Nablus, before he was buried at the refugee camp’s cemetery.

More than 165 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire this year, including 51 in the Gaza Strip and at least 110 in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. The death toll in the West Bank is the highest on record in a single year since 2015. In addition, at least two Israeli soldiers have been killed by Palestinian fire since May.
