Mohammad Hattab

March 23, 2017: Mohammad Mahmoud Hattab, 17, was killed by Israeli soldiers who were stationed on a military tower surrounding Beit El settlement near the al-Jalazoun refugee camp, north of Ramallah, in the West Bank.

The soldiers fired several live rounds at a Palestinian car, reportedly after Mohammad and three others in the car threw Molotov cocktails at the military tower.

Mohammad was instantly killed by gunshot wounds to his chest and shoulder. The three other teenagers suffered life-threatening wounds after being shot in the upper-body, including one who was shot in the head.

A witness told Defence for Children International (DCI) that the soldiers opened fire on the car after it stalled near the settlement of Beit El, and added that the 17-year-old driver was shot at after he stepped out of the vehicle, then he reentered the car and tried to start it, but it didn’t start, then the soldiers approached the car and opened fire on the four children.

On April 10, 2017 one of his wounded friends, identified as Jassem Nakhla, 17, died from his serious wounds, while their two friends remain in comas after being shot in the upper body. Mohammad was from the al-Jalazoun refugee camp. Source: IMEMC

Yousef Abu ‘Athra

March 22, 2017: Yousef Sha’ban Abu ‘Athra, 16, was killed by Israeli soldiers who fired shells and live rounds into Palestinian lands in Rafah in the southern part of the Gaza Strip. Two other Palestinians suffered moderate-to-severe injuries from the attack. The Israeli army claimed it opened fire on Palestinians who aroused suspicion by heading towards the border fence. Following the attack, Israeli tanks carried out a limited invasion into Palestinian lands, close to the fence. In a press release, the Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR) said several civilians intended to sneak into Israel for work when the army fired artillery shells, one striking the child to the upper part of his body. Morad Abu Ghazi

March 17, 2017: Morad Yousef Abu Ghazi, 16, was killed by Israeli soldiers who shot him with a live round in his chest in the al-‘Arroub refugee camp in the southern part of the West Bank. The soldiers invaded the refugee camp, and alleged that Morad and other Palestinians, were trying to throw Molotov cocktails at army vehicles. He died from his wounds while being moved to the al-Ahli hospital in Hebron. Another Palestinian was also shot in the chest, and suffered a moderate-to-severe injury. Morad was from al-‘Arroub refugee camp. Source: IMEMC

Qussai al-Amour

January 16, 2017: Qussai Hasan al-‘Amour, 17, was killed by Israeli soldiers who invaded Teqoua’ town, southeast of Bethlehem in the West Bank, and clashed with local youths before shooting the teen with six live rounds, including three in the chest. One of them hit his heart directly.

Video taken by Hisham Abu Shaqra, a Palestinian journalist who works for the Turkish Anadolu News Agency, shows the soldiers dragging Qussai’s body in a rough manner back to their military jeeps. Palestinian medics were prevented from approaching him. Israeli soldiers also shot and wounded four Palestinians, including a woman, while many others suffered the effects of teargas inhalation. : Abdullah Nasser Abu Medhyef, 10, was killed by Israeli army fire when soldiers stationed across the border fence opened fire onto an area east of al-Qarara town, northeast of Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip. The Israeli army issued a statement denying any involvement in the shooting, while eyewitnesses and the ministry of health confirmed the shots came from the Israeli side. Source: IMEMC

Issa Salem Tarayra, 15, was killed by Israeli soldiers at a military roadblock near Bani Neim town, east of Hebron, after the soldiers claimed he attempted to stab them. Eyewitnesses said he stepped out of a car and started walking to avoid a traffic jam. The Israeli army prevented Palestinian Red Crescent medics from approaching him, and he died of his wounds.
