Morad Abu Ghazi

March 17, 2017: Morad Yousef Abu Ghazi, 16, was killed by Israeli soldiers who shot him with a live round in his chest in the al-‘Arroub refugee camp in the southern part of the West Bank. The soldiers invaded the refugee camp, and alleged that Morad and other Palestinians, were trying to throw Molotov cocktails at army vehicles. He died from his wounds while being moved to the al-Ahli hospital in Hebron. Another Palestinian was also shot in the chest, and suffered a moderate-to-severe injury. Ibrahim Matar

March 13, 2017: Ibrahim Mahmoud Matar, 25, was killed by Israeli soldiers in Jerusalem’s Old City after the army alleged he attacked and stabbed two officers, causing moderate injuries. The soldiers then shot him dead. The army later invaded homes belonging to his family, in Jabal al-Mokabber neighborhood, southeast of Jerusalem, and arrested his parents and his uncle, leading to clashes between the soldiers and local youngsters. Bassel al-A’raj

March 6, 2017: Bassel al-A’raj, 31, was killed by Israeli soldiers in al-Biereh town in the central West Bank district of Ramallah after the soldiers surrounded a home and exchanged fire with him for more than two hours.

Locals said the Palestinian ran out of ammunition before the soldiers stormed the property, killed him, and dragged him from his feet for a distance, leaving a blood trail. They then took his corpse to an unknown destination.

The invasion led to clashes between the soldiers and many local youngsters, who hurled stones on the military vehicles, while the army fired live rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets and gas bombs. Two Palestinians were wounded. Bassel was from al-Walaja, in the West Bank city of Bethlehem.

Bassel was a pharmacist who graduated from an Egyptian university and worked in this profession near Jerusalem.

He was a historian and a writer who documented the ongoing Palestinian revolutions, starting in the 1930’s against the British occupation, and worked with various youth groups introducing them to the history of Palestine, including through trips to historic sites. Source: IMEMC

Sa’ad Qaisiyya

March 1, 2017: Sa’ad Mahmoud Ali Qaisiyya, 25, was killed by an Israeli colonizer in the Mor Farm outpost near Taneh Omarim Israeli settlement in Hebron in the southern part of the West Bank.

The Israeli army claimed the young man attacked the colonizer and stabbed him, causing minor wounds.

It added that “the Palestinian entered the farm before the settler heard noises behind his property, and saw a man carrying two knives, then he ran towards his home to grab his weapon, while the Palestinian chased him, and stabbed him in his home, then the wounded settler shot him.”

Israeli medics rushed to the scene and provided the Israeli settler with treatment for his minor wounds.

Palestinian sources said Sa’adi bled to death without receiving any medical treatment.

Rabea’ Salman

February 28, 2017: Rabea’ Najeh Salman, 20, was killed after falling into a deep quarry when Israeli soldiers chased him and several other workers after they tried to climb the Separation Wall to cross into Israel for work. The quarry he fell in was at least 50 meters (164 feet) deep which led to his instant death. Palestinian medics rushed to the scene after receiving a call about the incident, but he died from the fall, and was officially pronounced dead before the ambulance even reached Rafidia governmental hospital in Nablus. Samed Abu Shanab


February 16, 2017
: Samed Fathi Abu Shanab, 29, died from serious wounds he suffered in 2005 after Israeli soldiers shot him in the back near a former settlement in the Gaza Strip, causing paralysis and various complications, including kidney failure. He was later moved to an Egyptian hospital and died from his wounds while awaiting a kidney transplant surgery. Samed was from Khan Younis. Source: IMEMC

Mohammad al-Jallad

February 10, 2017: Mohammad Amer al-Jallad, 24, died from serious wounds he suffered on November 9, 2016 when Israeli soldiers shot him at Huwwara military roadblock near the northern West Bank city of Nablus. He allegedly had attempted to stab them. The Palestinian was moved to an Israeli hospital where he remained in a critical condition until his death. He also suffered lymphoma cancer that went untreated after his serious injury, causing serious complications. Mohammad was from Tulkarem in the northern part of the West Bank. Source: IMEMC

Husam Soufi


February 9, 2017
: Husam Hameed Soufi, 24, was killed by Israeli missiles while he was working in a siege-busting border tunnel, in Rafah, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.

Mohammad Anwar al-Aqra’, 38, was also killed in the strike, while at least five Palestinians were injured and buried under the rubble.

Suleiman Salah

February 8, 2017: Suleiman Hammad Salah, 81, was killed after being struck by the speeding car of an Israeli colonialist settler, near Danial settlement, built on Palestinian land in the al-Khader town south of Bethlehem in the West Bank. The settler fled the scene on foot, leaving his car behind. Palestinian Red Crescent medics were called to the scene and moved the elderly man to a hospital, where he died from his wounds, especially due to severely bleeding after one of his legs was amputated in the crash.
