February 12, 2021: Bilal Shehada Bawatna, 52, was killed, and two other Palestinians were injured, after they were rammed by an illegal Israeli colonist’s car, while participating in a nature walk activity in the Northern Plains of the occupied West Bank.

Mo’taz Bisharat, a Palestinian Authority official who monitors Israel’s colonialist activities in Tubas, said one man was killed and two were injured, all from the Ramallah governorate in central West Bank, when they were struck by the speeding colonist’s car near Ein al-Baida and Bardala Junctions in the Northern Plains of the Jordan Valley.

Bisharat added that the Palestinians came to the area to participate in a nature walk and exploration in the Northern Plains.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) rushed to the scene and moved the corpse of Bilal Shehada Bawatna, 52, to a Palestinian hospital, while Israeli medics moved the wounded residents to the al-Afula hospital.

Bawatna is from the Sateh Marhaba neighborhood in the al-Biereh city, north of Ramallah.

Eyewitnesses said the Israeli colonist was driving at an exceedingly high speed when he rammed the Palestinians, killing Bawatna and wounding the two others.

The funeral procession of Bilal Shehada was held, on Friday evening, starting from Palestine Medical Complex in Ramallah, heading towards Sateh Marhaba neighborhood, before the Palestinians took his body to the al-Ein Mosque in the city, and conducted the burial ceremony in the Shuhada Graveyard in the city.

Bawatna is the fifth Palestinian to be killed by Israelis this year.

On February 10, a Palestinian man, identified as Azzam Jamil Amer, from Kafr Qalil village near Ramallah, was killed after being rammed by an Israeli colonists’ car near Salfit, in central West Bank.

On January 31, the soldiers shot and killed Mohammad Hussein Amro, 35, from Halhoul, north of the southern West Bank city of Hebron,

On January 26, the soldiers shot and killed Atallah Mohammad Rayyan, 17, near Salfit in central West Bank.

On January 11, the Israeli police killed Bashar Zubeidat, 18, during a protest against police violence near Haifa.

Azzam Jamil Amer

February 11, 2021: Azzam Jamil Amer died after being rammed by a speeding Israeli colonialist settler’s car near Salfit, in northwestern West Bank.

Medical sources said the man, Azzam Jamil Amer, from Kafr Qalil village, south of the northern West Bank city of Nablus was struck by the Israeli colonists’ car, before he was moved to an Israeli hospital where he succumbed to his serious wounds.

The Israeli police said it opened an investigation to determine whether the incident was a traffic accident or a deliberate attack.

Salfit Governor Abdullah Kamil said the Israeli colonist deliberately targeted the young man at the junction of Kifl Hares.

Kamil held Israel responsible for the young man’s death, adding that Israel’s colonies are illegal under International Law since they are built on occupied lands, and constitute war crimes.

The deceased husband, and father, is a day laborer who was returning home from work when the incident took place.

It is worth mentioning that many Palestinians, including children, have been killed, and dozens injured, in similar incidents across the occupied West Bank.

In August of 2020, a young Palestinian man was killed when a speeding Israel colonists’ car struck him near a military roadblock, south of Tulkarem, in northern West Bank.

Khaled Maher Nofal

February 5th, 2021: Khaled Maher Nofal, 34, was shot and killed by a paramilitary illegal Israeli colonialist settler near the central West Bank city of Ramallah, after he reportedly attempted to break into a house.

According to the Israeli military, Khaled, who was unarmed, attempted to break into a home in the illegal Sadeh Ephraim colony, which was installed on privately-owned Palestinian lands.

The army also claimed that, at about 3:45 in the morning, the Palestinian drove his car fast through a field, and stopped in front of a house at the edge of the colony, and allegedly tried to enter through a locked door.

It added that a guard woke up and began a physical confrontation with the man before another guard shot and killed him.

Radi Abu Fkheitha, the head of Ras Karkar Village Council, said the army informed the family Khaled Maher Nofal, 34, that he was shot and killed, and accompanied his father, Maher, and his brother, Mohammad, to the scene to identify him and his bloody clothes.

It is worth mentioning that Khaled is a married father of a boy, only four years of age, and works at the Palestinian Finance Ministry.

He was near the ar-Reesan Mountain, which was recently illegally confiscated by Israeli colonists who established the Sde Ephraim colony on the stolen Palestinian lands.

After the man was shot, Palestinian medics rushed to the area, but the soldiers prevented them from reaching him, and took his corpse away.

His family denied the Israeli allegations, and said that the guard or the soldiers did not have to deliver fatal shots, especially since he was unarmed, and could have been easily arrested.

They added that their son was executed in cold blood, and that the soldiers confiscated his car, in addition to invading and ransacking the family’s home and interrogated them.

“He just went to check on his land in the ar-Reesan Mountain where Israeli has been trying to illegally annex the lands of the Palestinians in the area for its colonialist activities,” the family stated, “He owns dozens of Dunams of lands there.”

Mohammad Hussein Amro

January 31st, 2021: Mohammad Hussein Amro, 35, was shot and killed when Israeli forces shot him in an alleged stabbing attempt in the southern occupied West Bank.

The incident took place near an illegal Israeli colony at the Gush Etzion junction, south of Bethlehem, and no Israeli civilians or troops were injured.

An Israeli army spokesperson claimed that the man attempted to stab a soldier, and that an investigation would be opened in an attempt to establish a motive.

The Palestinian has later been identified as Mohammad Hussein Amro, 35, from Halhoul town, north of Hebron.

He was a married father of two children and worked at the sanitary department of Halhoul City Council.

Atallah Mohammad Rayan

January 26, 2021: Atallah Mohammad Rayan, 17, was shot and killed by Israeli soldiers near Salfit, in the central West Bank, after the army claimed he attempted to stab a soldier.

The teen, identified as Atallah Mohammad Rayan, 17, from Qarawat Bani Hassan town, northwest of Salfit, was shot dead by Israeli forces after he allegedly attempted to stab a soldier at Giti Avishar junction near the illegal Ariel colony.

Israel’s Haaretz quoted the army alleging that the Palestinian “arrived at Giti Avishar junction and tried to stab a squad commander and a female soldier at the junction,” before a soldier and the Palestinian “briefly wrestled after he tried to stab her a few times before the commander killed him.”

The reported incident did not lead to any injuries among the soldiers, while the army said, “it is investigating the attack.”

The Palestinian WAFA News Agency has reported that the teen was shot with several rounds, while soldiers made no attempt to provide first aid, and the child was left to bleed out until he succumbed to his wounds.

According to eyewitness testimony.

“At around 11:30 a young Palestinian man was crossing the roadblock, soldiers attacked and shot him, they hit him, he scuffled with soldiers after they fired at him, they forced him on the ground, then they hit him on his head with their guns, most likely this is what killed the young man, because they struck him on the head multiple times, they busted his head open, they shot and injured him first, then beat him to the ground and assaulted him and hit him on his head, this is what killed him.”

After killing the young man, the soldiers invaded Qarawat Bani Hassan, the hometown of the slain Palestinian, leading to protests.

The soldiers fired many gas bombs, concussion grenades, and rubber-coated steel bullets at the protesters, causing many to suffer the effects of teargas inhalation.

The soldiers also stormed and ransacked the family home of the slain Palestinian, ransacked the property, and interrogated his family.

Bashar Zubeidat

January 11th, 2021: Bashar Zubeidat, 19, died Monday from wounds sustained the previous Friday, when he was shot by Israeli police with multiple live rounds.

Bashar was a Palestinian with Israeli citizenship. In response to his murder, hundreds of Palestinians with Israeli citizenship took to the streets on Tuesday to protest his death, and several other recent deaths of Palestinians at the hands of Israeli police and security forces.

On Monday, doctors at Rambam Israeli Hospital in Haifa reported that Zubeidat, from Basmat Tab’oun village, near Haifa, died from his serious wounds he suffered, on Friday, January 8, 2021.

Mossawa Advocacy Center for Rights Of Arab Citizens of Israel said it contacted the Investigation Department of the Israeli Police to obtain information about the fatal shooting, and was informed of the allegation that the slain young man was sitting in the passenger seat of a car, and that the driver tried to drive away when the police ordered him to stop. The Center also reported that, during the chase, the police fired many sporadic rounds of live fire at the car, and injured Zubeidat, before detaining two others who were in the car.

The Israeli Police claim that a car rammed a police officer who tried to stop the vehicle in Haifa, before fleeing the scene, and added that the police later located the vehicle, but the driver tried to flee before the officers opened fire again at the car. The police told reporters that they were later informed that two persons were injured and were receiving treatment at Rambam hospital.

Mohammad Eyada Salahuddin

January 12th, 2021: Mohammad Eyada Salahuddin, 20, died of cancer just a few months after being released from Israeli prison, where he was diagnosed with cancer but left untreated for years.

The Palestinian Detainees and Ex-Detainees Committee stated that Mohammad Eyada Salahuddin, 20, from Hizma town, east of the occupied Palestinian capital Jerusalem, has died from cancer, and added that he was diagnosed while in Israeli prisons, but the occupation authorities failed to provide him with the necessary specialized medical treatment.

It added that Israel released the young man only a few months ago, after it became clear that his condition was profoundly serious when cancer spread to several parts of his body.

The Committee also said that it fought for his release by filing many appeals with Israeli courts, before the detainee’s condition witnessed a serious deterioration, and held Israel responsible for his death.

Qadri Abu Bakr, the head of the Detainees Committee, said Israel deliberately and callously denied the urgently needed specialized medical treatment to the detainee and added that Mohammad’s death was nothing short of a premeditated crime.

On its part, the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) issued a statement mourning the detainee and stating that he is among a long list of detainees who because seriously ill in Israeli prisons and died shortly after their release, due to Israel’s deliberate medical neglect policies against the Palestinian political prisoners.

He added that many detainees have recently been diagnosed with cancer, and are denied specialized medical attention.

It is worth mentioning that Salahuddin was taken prisoner in April of 2019, and was sentenced to two years in prison. In July of 2020, he was officially diagnosed with cancer while in prison.

There are at least 700 detainees in Israeli prisons who suffer from various health conditions, including 270 who have serious illnesses, such and liver and kidney diseases, and twelve who have cancer.

Former political prisoner and the head of the Documentation Department of the Palestinian Detainees’ Committee, Abdul-Nasser Ferwana, told the IMEMC that the death of Mohammad under these conditions is not the first, as Israel has a longstanding policy of depriving the detainees of the basic medical treatment, they need.

He added that Israel keeps committing these crimes and getting away with them, due to the absence of accountability in international courts, and called for shedding closer attention to dire and inhumane conditions the Palestinian detainees face in Israeli prisoners.

Ferwana also said that there is a significant rise of cancer cases among the Palestinian detainees in Israeli prisons, and described what Israel is doing as organized medical crimes against them.

He called for ensuring professional and comprehensive medical checkups on all former prisoners immediately after they are freed, especially since many start showing symptoms after their release.

‘Aahed Abdul-Rahman Ekhlayyel

January 04, 2021: ‘Aahed Abdul-Rahman Mahmoud Ekhlayyel, 24, was shot and killed by Israeli forces near the military base of Gush Etzion, in the southern part of the West Bank.

The Israeli soldiers claimed that Ekhlayyel had attempted to carry out a stabbing attack, but offered no evidence to support this claim.

After killing Ekhlayyel and holding his body, the Israeli military imposed a closure on the entire village of Beit Ummar, forcing all of the Palestinian residents to remain indoors, and preventing anyone from entering or leaving the village.

A squadron of Israeli soldiers then invaded the village and issued warrants for all the members of the Ekhlayyel family to come to Gush Etzion military base for interrogation.

According to a statement by the Israeli military, “(A) community security officer spotted a suspect approaching the junction. Following their suspicion, the security officer and a soldier operated to stop the suspect by firing into the air. The suspect then threw a knife, and the officer responded with live fire, neutralizing the suspect.”

Israeli forces frequently accuse Palestinians of knife attacks after killing them and have been known to plant knives on the bodies of dead Palestinians on a number of occasions.

The army closed the Gush Etzion junction to all Palestinian traffic after killing the young man.

After killing the young man, Israeli soldiers invaded Beit Ummar, before storming his family’s home and searching it.

The soldiers also summoned his family for interrogation in the Etzion military base and security center, north of Hebron, and closed the iron gate at the main entrance of Beit Ummar, in addition to preventing the Palestinians from entering or leaving it.

The army said it does not intend to transfer his corpse to his family for burial.

It is worth mentioning that, less than a month ago, Ekhlayyel opened a candy store to support his family.

Esther Horgan

December 21st, 2020: Esther Horgan, 52, was found dead, Monday, near Tel Menashe illegal colony, near Nablus, in the northern part of the occupied West Bank, in what Israel speculates an attack carried out by a Palestinian when she went for a jog in a nearby forest.

Israeli media sources said the corpse of Esther Horgan, 52, a mother of six, was found in the forest close to her home earlier Monday, and added that the attack resulted in a broken skull along with other injuries.

They stated that Horgan left her residence on Sunday afternoon and went jogging in the forest, but never returned home. Her husband then contacted the police before they initiated a search.

After her body was located, the Israeli army and the police initiated a massive search campaign to locate the person/s responsible for her death. Her family and friends started looking for her on Sunday afternoon after she went missing.

Three days after her body was found, Israeli forces abducted a man they claim was suspected of being responsible for her death.

In related news, Israeli sources said a settler, 18 years of age, was killed and four others were injured, during a chase by the Israeli police after they hurled stones at Palestinian vehicles near Ramallah, in central West Bank.

The Police said one of its undercover units ordered the vehicle to stop and gave chase after the driver refused to pull over and sped away before the vehicle slid and crashed.

Five settlers who were in the vehicle were injured, four of them suffered mild wounds, and one, identified as Ahuvya Sandak, 19, was pinned under the car and died at the scene.

Mahmoud Omar Kamil

December 21st, 2020: Mahmoud Omar Sadeq Kamil, 17, was shot and killed by Israeli soldiers near Bab Hutta Gate, in the Old City of occupied East Jerusalem, after he reportedly opened fire at them.

According to the Israeli army, the Palestinian was fatally shot by the soldiers after he opened fire at them using the Carlo weapon.

The slain Palestinian was later identified as Mahmoud Omar Sadeq Kamil, 17, from Qabatia town, south of the northern West Bank city of Jenin.

One soldier was mildly injured when he fell while chasing the Palestinian, and was moved to Shaare Zedek Hospital in Jerusalem.

Palestinian worshippers in the Al-Aqsa Mosque said they heard the shots before dozens of soldiers stormed the courtyards of the holy site and were extensively deployed around it after closing all of its gates, preventing the residents from entering or leaving it.

Dozens of police and security officers also arrived at the scene and installed many iron barriers to close the area.

The Police also stopped and interrogated dozens of young Palestinian men in the courtyards of Al-Aqsa and near it, in addition to assaulting and violently searching some of them.

On Monday at night, the soldiers invaded Qabatia town, before storming the home of Omar Kamil, the father of the slain teen, searched the property, and summoned him for interrogation in Salem military base and security center, west of Jenin.
