Yosef Salomon

July 21, 2017: Yosef Salomon, 70, was killed by a Palestinian who infiltrated into his home in Halamish Israeli settlement, north of Ramallah in the West Bank, and stabbed him, along with his daughter, Chaya Solomon, 46, and his son, Elad Salomon, 36.

Yousef’s wife, and the mother of Chaya and Elad, was still receiving treatment at Shaare Zedek Israeli Medical Center in Jerusalem, until the time of this report.

The Palestinian, identified as Omar al-‘Abed, from Kobar village, near Ramallah, was shot by a neighbor, before he was hospitalized, and was later handed to the Israeli military for interrogation.

The family was celebrating the birth of a grandson when the attack took place in their home, located on the edge on the settlement.

Although the Israeli military and security services believe the Palestinian identifies with Hamas, they do not believe he was an active member with the movement and acted alone, in an attack that was motivated by the rising tension in Al-Aqsa Mosque, in Jerusalem.
